How would Tali react to a Dark Brotherhood LDB bluntly offering to 'take care' of his father for him?
"No." Taliesin replied firmly.
The Listener blinked in confusion. Leaning against the table, they reiterated their offer once more. Again, Taliesin shook his head as he turned the page of his book.
"I'll even do the deed for free," offered the Listener. "You deserve this gift for all your hard work."
"And that would be murder," Taliesin replied before firmly shutting his book and straightening himself in his chair. There was a hint of sadness in his eyes as he looked at the Listener, keeping his composure before he spoke. "You are kind to offer this, it means a lot that you listened to my story." He smirked as a soft amused chuckle escaped his lips. "Very befitting, considering your new role."
The Listener rolled their eyes before sitting on the ledge of the table. Taliesin continued.
"He's not worth it."
"But he-" Taliesin held up a hand to silence them.
"He'll take pleasure in this. Knowing someone, somewhere has him in their thoughts and dedicating all this time, energy and effort for him. He's not worth it! He's not worth your time." Taliesin drew in a heavy breath and exhaled long before reaching out, placing his hand over the Listener's. "He doesn't deserve your attention."
He gave them a confident smile, masking his pain once again with that smug smirk before taking back his hand.
"As you wish..." whispered the Listener.
