“Oh, come on! You’ll look great!” Laura says to her sibling, as she tries to convince them to wear some sort of New Year’s headgear. “I’m wearing these.” She points at her glasses which have the upcoming year on them. “And I look pretty spiffy if I do say so myself.”

Of all the things Jasper expected to see in the abandoned house, this was not one of them. They had been investigating reports of what sounded like a vampire, and the trail led them to their supposed nest. As always, their instructions were to seek out the creature, and then report to the Agency, who’d send in some more trigger-happy Guardians. But that wasn’t going to stop Jasper from trying to talk it out first.

However, instead of finding a starving vampire when they entered the dust-filled room, they were met with much more unexpected company.

 ”I dON’T want to be seen as a vulnerable person.”

         Any interaction lacking in sarcasm and merciless ribbing was cause for great suspicion, if not concern, and though there were times Laura wished their relationship wasn’t quite so turbulent, the constant clashing of personalities was familiar, comfortable -- their own somewhat twisted version of bonding. Kicking back and sipping drinks was just not a thing they did. As someone who never had a knack for subtly, especially around Bunny, trying to forgo her usual straight forwardness was a doomed endeavor, but on this particular occasion the drink’s purpose truly was innocent; a peace offering. “It’s a nice night and I can’t possibly finish this all on my own, does there need to be a reason?”
