So this is my front yard. I decided to take Petey out front so she could smell something different. As I closed the door quietly, so I didn't wake my neighbors, a huge deer appeared in the middle of the grass. It just stopped and looked at me as I looked at it. Then, Petey saw it and she stood completely still and just gazed at this magnificent animal. We stood there like that for almost a minute, and then it just trotted off down the road!! I wish I had my phone to take a picture of it. You know I'm going to always have my phone with me from now on!!! That's the best sign that I've seen so far that this is where Petey and I belong!! What a magical moment in time!!! 🦌🏡🐕⭐️❤️🥳🎉🎊🌟✨️💫🎶

Also known as tembadau, this species lives in the tropical forests and grasslands of Southeast Asia. The individual shown here is female; males are a much darker brown. Though they are endangered in the wild, they have also been domesticated, and are used for meat across Southeast Asia. The bull featured on Indonesia’s national emblem is actually a banteng!
