Best episode so far. First of 5 episodes written by Linda Videtti Figueiredo. Both storylines are very strong, very true-to-life, and very funny. Audrey is particularly well written here. David Spade gets all the biggest laughs. 9/10

Rules of Engagement 1x02 "The Birthday Deal"

Funnier than the pilot. Largely carried by Oliver Hudson, as Adam spends the episode running between Jeff & Russell and Jennifer. The premise is rock solid here, and we see several instances of young, innocent Adam taking truly terrible advice from the other two men. Lot of big laughs in this one, usually in the Jeff-Adam scenes. Not enough Megyn Price. Boo! 8/10

I originally came to this show for Patrick Warburton and it ended up being one of my favourite comedies. Warburton leads the way but all the cast are great. Megyn Price is a perfect match for him. She holds her own. This first episode has a very flimsy story but it has a lot of heavy lifting to do in other departments. It has to establish 5 characters and the premise of the show. At this task it does a good job. And it is funny. 8/10
