"Hey, it's okay." The sandy-blond haired male spoke, awkwardly patting his lover's back. He wasn't the best at comforting others but he put the effort in for (Name) since he loved them.

His lover had been crying because of their imperfections which he thought was absurd.

"You're so much more accomplished than me, Ruggie." Tears were quickly falling down their face, showing how emotionally weak they were. (Name) couldn't help but compare themselves to other people because they grew up doing that.

It was like the world had been against them. Stabbing (Name)'s back more times than they could count. Even when they felt shittier than usual.

"Stop talking all of that stupid shit about yourself." Ruggie put a hand on their shoulder then sighed, a frown on his face.

"C'mon, (Name). Let's go out and I'll treat you to dessert. I know it'll cheer ya up. You shouldn't be crying on your birthday."

They stayed silent for a few more seconds before speaking, "...Okay."

(Name) slowly got up from their bed, Ruggie behind them incase if they lost balance because their body usually felt heavy after they felt gloomy.

"Ruggie, I'm alright now." They managed to say something despite how hard it was for them to try and compose themselves after having a mental breakdown.

"Sure you are." He sarcastically replied. "Don't lie to me." He intertwined his hands with their hands.

(Name) just quietly sighed, it made them feel a bit giddy that their boyfriend knew how they felt.

"Happy birthday, (Name)." He kissed their cheek.
