The Pokemon TCG Pocket app refused to work for me and I couldn't download the update. Friend suggested I delete and reinstall. Tried, it worked, but all my data got wiped. Lost my fucking shiny Moltres. Might actually kill myself.

Wtf is Sweden's obsession with using dl for baking measurements. My friend sent me a recipe for kokostosca brownies and it's like, 2 dl coconut flakes, 0.5 dl cocoa powder, 1.5 dl veteförtjockningsmedel (whatever that is), 0.8 dl granulated sugar. Okay great how many grams is that.
More HelloTalk gripes:
SO many photos of shirtless guys. I am half tempted to start commenting on them being like "hey you forgot to get dressed" or "can you not afford a shirt"
You can search by city if you pay OR if you watch ads. The ads are near (or sometimes straight-up) impossible to exit once you've watched them and I keep accidentally ending up on the app store
And then half the time it DOESN'T EVEN LET ME DO THE DAMNED SEARCH AND JUST TELLS ME TO UPGRADE TO VIP
The incessant "upgrade to VIP!" pop ups are SO ANNOYING
I actually kinda hate this app BUT I am getting a lot of Japanese writing practice in and I've already learned and practised new grammar and had some pretty good conversations with people so I guess I'll stick with it :/
HelloTalk has this AI bot that comments on people's posts giving "corrections" and every time I see it it's taken something that sounds completely natural and turned it into some janky google-translate vibe garbage 😒
Commented on someone's post on HelloTalk and also told them the post contained no errors, the English was perfect, and their response was "well I used AI to write it :)" and ????? I'm so ??? confused ????? why the fuck are you on a language learning app if you're just gonna use AI to speak the language for you anyway?????

*sigh* I just found out senpai's ill and will probably call in sick tomorrow, which means I'll have to cover her classes. Originally I was supposed to be going to a nearby school to teach with my friend, with only 2 lessons (both being good classes with kids I know), but if she does call in sick I'll have to go to a school that's a 90-minute commute with kids I don't know for 3 classes, and because the train times are super awkward I'll have to leave the house at 11:45 and won't get home until 22:45.
BUT I did also find out that my supervisor has upgraded my teaching status to supervisor-level, which I didn't know was a thing but yeah. The only other person to have that status in our region (other than my supervisor of course) is his deputy. All it really means is I'm now authorised to do evaluations and have the potential to be sent further afield to train up new teachers, but it does make me feel like my hard work is valued and appreciated.
Just had a 2-hour fight with Surfshark to get my damn internet to connect. "We detected another VPN" IT'S YOU. IT'S YOU CONNECTING WITHOUT ME ASKING YOU TO AND DOING A BAD JOB OF IT.
The Area Manager subbed my first class today, a class I have to fight for my friggin life to get a sub for every single time and at the end of it she said "wow! They sure are a handful!" And I'm like yes, this is why I want a sub for this class, why do I have to harass like 4 different managers to try and get one 🫠
