feeling slightly insane about how elphaba very clearly avoids doing any actual harm to glinda during the cat fight, almost every move she makes with her broom is to block glinda’s wand. she swings once and it’s one that—if it wasn’t blocked by glinda’s—would’ve missed. she’s simply letting glinda take her pent up anger out on her, elphaba’s own anger is practically gone once she’s slapped glinda.
even as glinda jumps on her, she takes it. she’s clearly able to avoid it as she displayed mere seconds before this but she lets it happen. she lets glinda pin her and i’d argue her attempts to get up were mostly superficial.
she loves glinda too much to do any real physical harm to her and she’s completely fine with letting glinda hurt her because she knows she needs it.

"Did you spend all this fuckin' money on my card, baby?"
You blink slowly, and shortly glance at the pink Hermés birkin bag you bought this morning, already displayed in your walk-in closet. Rue has been bringing a lot of money from working at Alamo's strip club for four years now, with being a plug on the side. Being her high school sweetheart, you've watched her grow and expand her finances.
"Uhhhh.."
"Y/n." Rue groans, walking towards you.
Rue takes your hand, and raises it above. "Do a 360 for a me."
You oblige and twirl around, letting Rue admiring the new outfit you bought along with the bag. A lacy hemmed black dress that stops towards your hips, hugging your body perfectly. You knew how much Rue was obsessed with the color black on you, making the purchase more worth it.
"Sorry, Rue Rue. I just found some stuff i reaaaally needed."
"Needed?" Rue cooes, gently applying pressure on your waist. You pout and tug on the taller woman's suit tie.
"Yes, needed!" You insist, though you cracked a grin ruining your attempt at being serious about Rue's money.
Rue raises an eyebrow. "And another bag?"
"Maybe."
"Another pair of heels?"
"Possibly."
"Jewelry?"
"Mmm.."
"Baby, you're impossible." She mumbles, and you giggle giving a gentle kiss on her cheek, letting your lip liner stain it. She drops her head on your shoulder, listening to your heart thump beat by beat.
"You still keep me around," You gently press scratches on Rue's neck with your freshly done acrylics.
“Yeah,” Rue admits, lifting her head again. Her eyes drift over your outfit once more, lingering for a second longer than necessary. “Can’t really help it when you walk in lookin' like that.”
You gasp jokingly, "Looking like what?"
"Like you're trying to bankrupt me and distract me at the same time, mama."
"I'm irresistible."
"You really are."
Rue grabs your hand, intertwining your fingers as she tugs you towards the closet.
"C'mon pretty. Show me everything else you bought. Give me a show, at least."

Something I don't see enough people talking about is the fire scene in Frankenstein (2025), mainly the bit where Victor tries to go back in. I can't stop thinking about that part.
Like, really think about it. At this point Victor despises the Creature, so much so he tries to kill it. But as soon as he hears the Creature calling his name, frightened and confused, he stops. Deliberately. He turns around and tries to run back in. Tries to save the creation he loathes.
Victor, for just a moment, regrets what he did, and tries to save his creation. Deep down he still held a little love for the Creature.
octavinelle trio is such a refreshing take on friendships. for a while it was speculated that the twins and azul have a purely contractual relationship, fueled by a straightforward interpretation of how characters themselves address it (book four being the main culprit). if you look at their actions though, that's obviously not the case. they don't quit azul when he overblots; they prod and poke at him yet at the end they remain a unit, at their best when put together. their interest is conditional, but the conditions aren't external. the condition is them staying true to themselves.
they don't remain friends because they have entered a state of friendship and now need to uphold it. they do it because azul is azul. through his actions he repeatedly proves that within him, integral to him, are the qualities they appreciate (think the tsumsitter vignette: only azul can make things fun by figuring out a way to outsmart the two of them). which is why they stay. not out of pity or obligation, but because this really is the best choice.
