feeling slightly insane about how elphaba very clearly avoids doing any actual harm to glinda during the cat fight, almost every move she makes with her broom is to block glinda’s wand. she swings once and it’s one that—if it wasn’t blocked by glinda’s—would’ve missed. she’s simply letting glinda take her pent up anger out on her, elphaba’s own anger is practically gone once she’s slapped glinda.
even as glinda jumps on her, she takes it. she’s clearly able to avoid it as she displayed mere seconds before this but she lets it happen. she lets glinda pin her and i’d argue her attempts to get up were mostly superficial.
she loves glinda too much to do any real physical harm to her and she’s completely fine with letting glinda hurt her because she knows she needs it.
