 Rubs getting hugs because life is hard sometimes and we all break at some point. Sun just holds her and is a an ear for her, reminds her she’s not alone. yang teasing ruby about sun, ruby reading her shoujo books, blushing because omg she has a crush like heroines in her books. //////

Ruby talking to Weiss about her crush on sun, weiss trying to help her. weiss fangirls okay, she thinks its cute her bff has a crush Weiss lowkey high key enjoys getting ruby ready for dates, espcially the first one.

Ruby: are heels really necessary?!

Weiss: don’t question me! you said you wanted to dress to impress, heals do that. 

Ruby: but what if i fall?

Weiss: he’ll catch you.

Ruby: /////// What if my feet hurt?

Weiss: .....he’ll carry you.

Ruby: /////// what if-

Weiss: read your shoujo books and that will answer any further questions....

Ruby: but... what if he doesn’t feel the same?

Weiss: psshhhh its his loss, you look amazing in this outfit. I would know I picked it. 

Ruby: awww weiss! (hugs) Now i see why Blake fell for you.

Weiss:  ///// technically I fell, she caught me. 

Ruby: guess you could say it was....

weiss: DON”T!

Ruby: worth the trip!

Weiss: you dolt! see, you and that boy are made for each other! uugg

Sun: so...Blake there’s this girl....

Blake: i feel like i’m not qualified enough to give advice, considering how me and weiss started dating..

Sun: but you guys are dating. 

Blake: .... still

Jaune: i read enough romance books and heard enough girl talk from my sisters to help Sun. 

Blake: ....how traumatizing was it?

Jaune: very.....

pairing: sun/ruby notes: this is rambly and incoherent but i LOVE them so there.  I was listening to lost in you by khai dreams while writing this. 

Sun’s heart pistons like it’s trying to tear its way out of his chest and he contemplates letting it before her open, way too soft to be real hand clasps over his and pulls him forward. He lurches about as hard as his heart does when she mercilessly drags him through the crowds, used to the stealth that being abnormally tiny allows. He knocks shoulders with a few dozen people as she carves a path through the masses and he doesn’t even offer apologies, too focused on how sweaty his hands must be and if she can feel his pulse against her hand. He does his best to keep up but really it’s unfair, she has a semblance that makes her impossibly fast and even her walking pace is brutal. He thinks he’d follow her anywhere really, not that she’d ask, because she’s Ruby and she’s anything but demanding or needy but wow- he wishes she would just ask. 

His heart all but bottoms out when she squeezes his hand and turns abruptly to him, open mouth curving into a wide smile aimed at him and only him. He comes to a stuttering halt, tail jutting out to even out his wonky equilibrium and basically body slams into her. Sun cringes immediately because Ruby is tiny and the impact probably killed her- but when his eyes open she’s laughing, ass flat on the ground, hand still open and reaching for him. Her laughter bubbles into all out hysteria and he snorts because of all the girls for him to fall for he chose the one that sounds like an absolute gremlin when she giggles. 

He takes her hand and pulls her to her feet and she’s red in the face, shaking as she laughs. People are beginning to stare now but he just focuses on her, the incredulous faces of the crowd blacking out until it’s just them, hands joined and Ruby the center of the universe. His tail makes its way up, curls around her ankle lazily, like it belongs there and she stills herself, smile unwavering and happy tears in the corners of her eyes. 

Sun: Hey Ruby wanna see a gun show? 💪

Ruby: There’s one in town?!?!?! Do they have sniper rifles???
