Legoland. What’s that? The prequel to Ride The Cyclone, starring Penny Lamb ((aka Jane Doe in RTC)) and Ezra Lamb as the main characters. They both grew up in a hippie commune, that doubled as a weed farm.

Their parents got arrested, and the entire thing was presumably shut down. They were taken from their parents and placed in a catholic private school, in which they are seen as freaks, and ostracised. I may be wrong, I have yet to watch the musical. I will, don’t worry.

Now that we know that, again we move on;

In this au, Ezra is actually the older sibling. Ezra is 21 around the placement of RTC, and Penny is 17-18. Ezra was a former member of the Choir, keeping good friends with the current members after he graduated.

Now, as we know, the Fall Faire was the faire in which everyone boarded the Cyclone after speaking to a fortune telling machine named Karnak, and died. Yes, tragic. But, in this au, Karnak isn’t just a machine.

at some point, month and months before the Fall Faire, Ezra walked into the construction site for said faire. It’s remains were there year round, no reason to clean it up every single time…right?

Well, Ezra walked in, curious about it. He hadn’t been aware it just stayed abandoned for months out of the year. He walked into a small warehouse, calling if anyone was there…nobody responded, not until he looked up, finding himself just below a storage crate that was toppling over the edge of the ((shittily made) second story balcony.

He was crushed. His funeral would be held a month after initially found him. It was a closed casket.

But that is not the end of his story.

Ezra finds himself. He is waking from unconsciousness, the lights turned off. Well, except for the dim lights lighting the box he was in.

Sorry, what?

Oh, yes, he was in a box. A box labelled: The Amazing Karnak.

He soon realised through his groggy state, and heavy breathing, that he could not be groggy. He could not breathe. What was happening? He couldn’t tell. Why did he feel so groggy, then? Well, that’d be the limited power source that only just sparked to life. He had at least 8 minutes to comprehend all of this before he would be unconscious yet again.

When he is conscious again, he is before many people, telling fortunes & such. Telling them to “ride The Cyclone”, even though…he knew. He even told his own sister. He did not read her fortune, but he did infact mention the programmed goodbye phrase in passing. Just a buggy old machine, I’m sure they thought.

He hated this, very much so.

After they put him back in that warehouse, and inevitably met the Choir again, things ensued.

Now, of course, none of them would recognise him, not even his voice. But, Ocean…gets the idea, upon “Karnak” saying something strange in passing. Can she keep a secret? No. Not really. I assume she spread the word with everyone except Jane. Not that it would matter.

Skip to the aftermath; I have two aus.

1 - (aka the canon ending for this au) Ezra & everyone are in limbo, just…staying there for eternity. They cope, but…man.

Also “Karnak” died, yes, but they just…did some random ((probably electrocution level)) shit with the wire in hopes it would work, and it did! But initially it did not. Only after everyone left the stage to speak privately (not knowing if he was alive or not), they’d find “Karnak” leaning against his booth, which he broke to get out of. He also, at some point, steals Ricky’s crutches, as Ricky didn’t need them anymore- and I can’t imagine Ezra could walk well like that.

2 - (not canon but sad idea) Ezra just stays…as everyone else is redeemed and send back to life. He is used once a year for the faire, which Penny goes to just to sneak in after hours to talk to her brother. The others rarely speak with him, somewhat pitiful of the guy. He resents this, but understands.

NOTE!!!!!!! Ezra has a different design than Karl Hamilton’s Karnak, but ONLY SLIGHTLY! I feel like it’d be better if it was kinda just that Karnak but suspiciously Ezra-esque /silly ((even before he dies it just kinda looks vaguely like him in face shape and nose 😭))
