Weakening

I've come to believe that every single day of my life has been a joyride. Even this day, this Friday, amidst the dark clouds of mortality.

Today is my birthday. I used to be uncomfortable with the idea of growing older but this changed when I entered my mid-20s. Growing older is great. Sweet Autumn 🍂 As many may perceive this time as being surrounded by sadness and death, I see it as a time when the leaves and the earth are rejoicing! The mossy wet branches, draped in all their decay .. releasing and returning to the earth. We know how good it feels when you finally let go of resistance. When you finally release and give in to the way the wind is blowing. It feels so good. I see this time of year as a celebration. The idea of a *purpose served* and an excitement to move on to learn *what else is in store for me* is indeed something to celebrate.↟ . . Nature understands when it has served its purpose. It is happy to evolve, it is honored to evolve. We know this is true by the sheer beauty we see in the transformation. Nature understands we evolve in a circular pattern, in cycles. It understands we will return with a purpose. So when the time comes for the trees to shed their old skin, they dance and fall so elegantly to the ground, proudly, peacefully, happily! Looking towards the resting times. The inspiration I feel during this time of year is one of feeling fulfilled in letting go. Finding the purpose and beauty in this idea of immense letting go. And looking towards how much brighter and how much more useful we can be as we journey through the cycles.↟ . . This photo is from my spontaneous hike the other morning - as I drove down the road to run some errands I couldn’t help but pull over into the forest and explore.
