RPG Highlights: Zine Quest!
Hey! This entry isn’t about one particular ttrpg project or content, but instead about a bunch of them.
Kickstarter started Zine Quest last year, as a sort of banner small ttrpg projects could group themselves under - they projects have to be short (ie zines) and usually have a quick funding period. I backed a bunch last year, and this year’s harvest looks even cooler.
Basically if you’ve ever wanted to branch out into smaller, weirder, or just not D&D related ttrpg content, this is probably the lowest barrier to entry you can get beyond just browsing the “Physical Games” category on itch.io.
So, here’s just a small sampling of projects that looks way cool;
Venture and Dungeon - high fantasy Belonging Outside Belonging
A Touch of Glamour - fae creatures in the modern world - Powered by the Apocalypse
Rock & Roll - ttrpg about making a band
The Artefact - play as a magical item passed down through the generations
Dish Pit Witches - be gay witches working in a restaurant (!!!)
Beak, Feather, & Bone - a competitive map/worldbuilding game
Ten People You Meet in the Undergarden - a Troika! sphere (setting)
Green Dawn Mall - teens exploring an endless Mall
Terror of the Stratosfiend #2 - real fuckin weird (in the good way) tentacle & sorcery setting/adventure using Dungeon Crawl Classics
Mycelium - fungus themed incursions/adventures for use with Trophy
Tempting Tephra - 10 pages (!!!) of anti-canon random tables
