#rp linkshell

Hi everyone! I’m really pleased to see the response towards the idea for a linkshell in which to find wild RP in the game, and as such, the linkshell is about to be formed. Here are some guidelines that have been set up for it!

DO:

Try to take the initiative to organize roleplay if you are someone if you are comfortable doing so! Some people tend to be very shy when it comes to starting RP, so if you are a person who isn’t, help others out.

Keep an open-mind about other people’s characters and avoid nitpicking how someone RPs, what their characters are like, etc. within the linkshell

Try your best to participate and enjoy yourself!

If someone in the linkshell is harassing you or otherwise making you feel uncomfortable with their behavior, then please contact Isolde Grey, Dietrich Stone, or Sokhatai Iriq right away so we can try to remedy the situation.

Do your best to consider RPing out of your circle from time to time, and make new connections! 

Try to respond to people searching for RP, especially if they’ve posted for it more than once.

Be positive, courteous, and friendly to everyone in the linkshell. <3 This is a positive space, so try your very best to be warm and welcoming.

Come to a moderator right away if there is a problem. If we are online, point it out to us, or if we aren’t, please provide screenshots.

DON’T:

No solicitation for ERP.

No in-channel FC recruitment.

Please try to refrain from controversial topics, such as religion and politics! This is a place we want to keep positive and free from arguments.

Be courteous about chat scroll when people post that they are looking for RP.

Harassment of any kind (sexual, bullying, trolling RP sessions, etc.) will not be tolerated and will result in immediate removal from the Linkshell.

Please keep IC interactions out of the linkshell.

Bear in mind that this linkshell is more for random encounters than large scale events, so please avoid posting advertisements for them!

When we say ‘wild RP,’ this is to suggest that people try to spread out from the usual hubs you tend to find RPers congregated in. We want to encourage people to use the vast world FFXIV has for all types of RP, from casual interactions to treasure hunting expeditions to beach parties and more. If you are seeking RP in the linkshell, you can be as specific as you like about what you’re looking for, or if you’re not sure what you feel like doing but want to get out of the usual hubs, feel free to toss ideas around with other members. Alternatively, you can let RP happen as organically as you want. The IC aspect is all yours - this is just a place to find other people to join you in it. <3

The Athenaeum is Recruiting!

'Knowledge crowns those who seek her.'

The Athenaeum is an IC Linkshell, an OOC Linkshell, and an IC/OOC Discord Server which revolves around the themes of intelligence gathering and preservation.

Within the walls of The Athenaeum, knowledge, relics and artifacts of all kinds are kept safely under lock and key for both current and future generations to learn from the intelligence garnered from them.

The Athenaeum deals in any kind of knowledge that deserves preservation and safe keeping.

With an office in the basement of a shop in the Lavender Beds, Ward 8, Plot 34, and a storeroom/library located in Mist, Ward 10, Topmast Room 85, The Athenaeum is a small organisation with dreams of becoming one of the biggest and best of its kind.

Front-facing, The Athenaeum appears to be a regular library, but dig a little deeper and you'll find a world of espionage, secrets, and relics kept under lock and key.

Tugging upon errant threads is always wont to begin to unravel the fabric it forms: from end to end, the lone thread connects all similar threads, and they come together to weave fabric: supple and soft... or perhaps coarse and durable. Light and airy or unbearably heavy. So it goes, too, that the underworld of Eorzea is much akin to fabric -- and Ebonguard, a singular thread, woven still of even smaller fibers that ultimately comprise the whole. Existing in hushed whispers as a concept, it was given a name and brought to life by a mysterious man under the monkier of "Crow." And he sought to fill its ranks according to its image: scholars, mercenaries, adventurers, those involved in organized crime, vigilantes... Anonymity is the liquid courage of the modern era, and perhaps when masked it's easy for even the upright citizens of the realm to catch a glimpse into its less savory corners.

EBONGUARD is a lore-compliant IC networking linkshell on Balmung. It is oriented more toward morally ambiguous characters (leaning, of course, toward criminal sorts), but characters of any moral alignment are welcome.
