Roxy Paine (b. 1966) is noted for his interest in natural forms and their dual benign and malignant qualities. He explored the culinary, poisonous, and psychedelic possibilities of mushrooms in naturalistic sculptural paintings, and planted Bluff, a life size steely presence, in Central Park during the 2002 Whitney Biennial. Paine is known for his large "dendroid" tree-like metal sculptures and his "dioramas," painstaking scale reproductions of areas of inspection and reconnaissance, such as airport security checkpoints or focus group meetings. https://www.graphicstudio.usf.edu/gs/artists/paine_roxy/paine.html
