Character 78: he was abandoned by his mother when he was like 3 and ended up raised as a child soldier in what was essentially a cult. then he got kidnapped by his stepmother and ended up at ANOTHER CULT, eventually making his way back to the original cult. except then Bad Things Happened so he had to leave, and though he does make friends and get character development everything goes to hell when his best friend dies. he grieves for a few days then gets a message that says his friend is in fact still alive and was resurrected, so he spends the next few months searching for him. he doesn't find anything and goes to boarding school to try and live a normal life, his girlfriend breaks up with him, and then he gets dragged back into his old Fantasy Book Teenage Protagonist Life and gets killed in the most dramatic insane way possible, via getting stabbed by an evil immortal thousands-of-years-old capitalist.

Character 82: She is absolutely brilliant. Her job is basically to know what you are going to do before you do and she excels! She likes to communicate through code but eventually she does find her own voice and becomes more of an active player in the world. She is tasked to save lives and does so time and again. When people were threatening her, she managed to find an escape route all of her own and stayed hidden from /everyone/ for years. Until her nemesis eventually found her! But she wins out in the end, when it really matters. And she deeply cares for the family she brought together along the way.

Character 10: he's died like three times by now. his mom died and his dad neglected him so he ran away and followed some random old man to "fight the forces of evil." he's fully willing to commit murder, especially in the earlier seasons. he has a habit of picking up random children and adopting them. he has a boyfriend. he has self worth issues and a whole lot of trauma that is pretty much never unpacked. he has superstrength and a cool scar. he also has a very interesting connection to death.

Character 88: A British lady who stepped up in the time of greatest need! This of course meant she grabbed someone else's story, but she did much better with it. Mostly because she's out there subverting gender stereotypes at the same time.

We are down to 16 remaining characters! This round will feature 8 of them. 4 of the other 8 lost the winners bracket quarterfinals and will enter the losers bracket in the next round, and the other 4 won the winners bracket quarterfinals and will return in the semifinals.

Character 64: They may be stuck in trash job, but they makes the effort to find the beauty in the world. It's probably why they're doing better than their coworkers. One day they finally find someone to share that beauty with and it's the best thing to happen to either of them. (eventually)

Character 12: I hate him with every inch of my being but it would also be very funny if he won

Character 61: Everyone benefits from the kooky grandma! She has so many words of wisdom to share, even if it takes a bit of translation at times. This strange (endearing) woman has lived her life in the service of others and 100% deserves to roam around the community with her sweet tooth leading the way. And if anything happened to her, G-d Himself will punish the offenders.

Character 72: the saddest wettest cat on earth. he died very tragically and came back, then went back to his home city to try and kill his dad. he didn't and ended up travelling the world for a bit, then proceeded to go back to his home city again and become a crime lord. he tried to get his dad to kill his murderer but failed and got his throat slit instead. he attempted murder on his little brother. he's the last remaining member of a secret society of monks. he's got cool magic swords. he's a literature nerd. what more could you possibly want?

Character 67: Is part horse. Can cause others excruciating pain with their own anger. Joins an illegal rebellion at age 13. 3 elves are all in love with her. One of them is her cousin. A grumpy short man tried to get her exiled from society because she has brown eyes.

Character 151: A tall and buff red-headed woman who has knowledge of an ancient martial art that proves very helpful to the protagonist. She's the head of a security unit that's tasked with transporting people through dangerous terrain, filled with dangerous creatures. She's very cheerful and friendly, and is perhaps one of the most talented battlers in this land. One of her descendants later goes on to be a member of a four person elite squad.

Character 80: He has a heart of gold. He's immune to propaganda and government psyop (literally). He's funny, he's the stoner, he's the voice of reason, he's standing against misogyny. He critiques capitalism, then proceeds to read children's books and worry about main character. He can wield anything as a weapon but never really kill anybody (not that we know of, at least). Most importantly, he'd choose his friends over anything, including the fate of the whole world.

Character 201: they're an android they're very smart and very kind they have a switch that makes them crack bad jokes and laugh they used to have amnesia and didn't know they're an android at first as a result they have a pet falcon they're the weird one in their group, but the others accepted them after a while

Character 56: At first silent and mysterious, it turns out he's just super awkward, sheltered, and terrified about being stuck in the middle of a war. He's not a coward, he just has to be cautious. He gets mocked for looking too pretty, but honestly I need this man's hair care routine, he's looking IMMACULATE versus everyone else being covered in grime and blood and flees. All he had was his father figure and devotion to God to help him through life, but then he lost both of them in an epiphany while two sides fight over who gets to keep him and people are actively dying around him. He decides, fuck it and fuck God, I'll make paradise on Earth with my own hands if I have to. He's a pacifistic babygirl but also ready to allow terrible crimes if it'll get him to his end goal. He ends up getting corrupted on his path to creating peace and paradise. He's the narrative foil to the protagonist. He serves cunt with his looks while his rival is constantly looking scruffy and beat to shit, but that contrast just makes him realize that maybe people go too far in their goals. Yes, he's turning mad from the power, but he's not gonna SHOW it. He has STANDARDS.

Character 294: He's got daddy issues. He got fire powers. He's got rage. He's a villain that became a protagonist. He's popularly shipped with the female lead character but they don't get together in canon. He's got a red and black colour scheme. (NOTE: This is the first of two characters submitted with the same description.)

Character 162: Image a character who is powerful, intellegent, and feared by the most powerful entities of the world. They trade tales with each other of a powerful hunter that would wipe them from existance with a flick of his finger. Now imagine that he's a middle school teacher and his students think he's a cringefail manbaby. This character has some of the most OP powers of his series and uses them to give himself theatric lighting and cast shadows over his own face for dramatic effct. He wears sunglasses at night and footie pyjamas to important business meetings. He thinks he's so cool. And he is! But, quote, "his favorite meme is teamwork" and he's gay for a man who sleeps in rivers fully clothed. He's supposed to be a wise mentor figure but his students and subordinates do not respect him at all, even though they have enemies that are terrified of him. He's 26 years old and the story is supremely excellent at writing him as a young, unsure, not-very-good-at-adulting adult. I love this guy. He sucks. He's excellent. Please vote for this guy.

Character 292: hes the most unhinged 13 year old youll ever meet. hes shot a man before. a gambler who doesnt care if he lives or dies, which makes his various matches against the yakuza very stressful for them. at 19 he went up against a man who had been responsible for the murders of many via blood loss, and has the absolute audacity to raise the amount of his blood drained 10x just so he could drain the old man of all his wealth, which he later gambles away again after he wins. he died during the game but he got better. he got dementia in his 50s and arranged a fake funeral for himself, invited his friends to it to tell them he wasnt actually dead yet, and then died in front of all of the for real. in a tiger print button up and white suit. an irl funeral service is held for him yearly on the date of his death and he has a physical grave.
