A wonderful colliery, unfortunately in demolition

"KIKO"  in Rangsdorf Der Flughafen Rangsdorf wurde anlässlich der olympischen Spiele 1936 in Berlin erbaut. Später wurde er zum Militärflughafen umfunktioniert. Am 20. Juli 1944 flog von diesem Flugfeld Graf von Stauffenberg mit einer Bombe im Gepäck zum Führerhauptquartier nach Rastenburg. Nach dem zweiten Weltkrieg übernahmen die sowjetischen Streifkräfte den Flughafen und nutzen diesen bis 1994 Rangsdorf Airport was built for the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin. It was later converted into a military airport. On July 20, 1944, Graf von Stauffenberg flew from this airfield with a bomb in a suitcase to Adolf Hitlers headquarter in Rastenburg.
