the (apparently unintentional?) mirroring of the animal-talking magic in hobbverse with queerness/homophobia is truly an iconic and (unintentionally??) brilliant allegory because not only does fitz have multiple "I'm on the right track baby I was born this way" moments and not only is burrich the ultimate repressed closeted I-don't-want-you-to-suffer-as-I-have-so-I'll-beat-the-fairy-out-of-you internalized homophobia daddy but finally and most convincingly of all... people are only so prejudiced against it as cope. because having animal talking magic/being gay is obviously so far superior to the alternative. like to the point where it's abundantly obvious you (the common people) are only oppressing them because you're jealous. cope and seethe duchyfolk
