“I know Narsus said we should only spend our money practically but I’m tempted to buy one of those ruby bracelets,” Prince Arslan said, filling in the silence (though there was nothing silent about Gilan), “You think he’d notice?”
“Narsus is shrewd,” Jaswant said consideringly, not sure what the Prince wanted from him.
Prince Arslan hummed, “Is there anything here that tempts you?”
Jaswant's eyes wandered to the sweet vendor as they passed. He remembered Salima then, her infectious laughter and her warm eyes. He missed home. He missed her.
Or, in Gilan, Jaswant is faced with his greatest challenge yet - trying not to indulge in his favourite sweets. Arslan is not making this easy for him.
