(Part 2) According to @agpoondesign - one of the artists behind the project: “Happy Faces in Happy Places captures the emotions of a bright future, where individuals are free to get close, personal and be together again. The silly expressions on characters spark feelings of joy that are further emphasized by the bright colours, with no one being the same size or shape. The geometric shapes form around each other to fill empty spaces and create one vibrant piece, symbolizing the strength of the community in Edmonton and the unique individuals that make up the larger whole.” This team of artists also painted an additional piece for the pop-up park (see slide / photo 8).
