Yoroi Shin Den Samurai Troopers is making a comeback. Is it a remake or a sequel?
Okay, it’s finally finished! Some changes had to happen, unfortunately, which is why it looks a little different from before. The person wearing the suit is 5’1 and does not have what she succinctly called ‘anime legs’, so I had to make some changes for freedom of movement and other practical reasons.
Lopped a whopping three inches off the tops of the boots. Shortened the stomach armor by about the same amount by just…slicing it off and sticking it back in a higher position. Gluing on ‘seams’ to the under-armor using ribbon did not work. To my surprise and frustration, the contact cement would not stick to the ribbons and I was leery of using hot glue for this. So I was forced to just use Sharpie, which doesn’t look as nice as I’d hoped, but it is what it is at this point. Glued armor and added seams to the gloves, finally.
And with that, the cosplay is complete to my satisfaction. Hoping for a great time and to see some of you there! (and if you are in fact going, the Ronin Warriors 35th anniversary panel will be 6:00-7:30 on Friday, in the Throwback Track Room. There will be trivia with prizes!)

1980′s Anime Big Hair Energy from “Ronin Warriors” / Yoroiden Samurai Troopers, 1988. First US dub broadcast was in 1995. I’ll assume this was part of the big US anime spike in the 90′s – DBZ, Sailor Moon, Pokemon, Ronin Warriors, Samurai Pizza Cats, Toonami on Cartoon Network, Saturday Morning Anime on the Sci-Fi Channel, Gundam, Cowboy Bebop, etc, etc.
