please i need blue and ronan to confront the fact that they APPARENTLY have more or less the same taste in men

i blew right past it without commenting because i was too excited to keep reading but Ronan at the Barns with all his dream things and his interactions with his various creatures and especially Chainsaw? effervescent.

my favorite thing about cdth is that it’s an entire book about Ronan and things related to Ronan and i got to read it!

That one moment in TDT where Ronan pretends to be asleep to avoid Declan and tosses his leg over Adam’s lap just has so many layers to it. On the one hand Ronan is still stressed and repressed to a point where if he even breathes in the direction of his Gay Feelings™ he wants to light something on fire, but at the same time he sees Declan approaching and goes “aw shit I don’t want to talk to my annoying liar brother who nags me, but I also really want to irritate him.... oh I know I’ll nonchalantly sprawl all over Adam in a manner that implies a degree of physical familiarity I never exhibit with anyone, he’ll hate that implication for sure.” Plus the fact that Ronan is probably subconsciously looking for a reason to be in contact with an attractive boy despite how much he avoids the concept of being gay! It’s like a stylized matryoshka layer cake of gay repression and familial drama that’s eating its own tail and it’s just fascinating to watch unfold.
