Season 1 Ed Teach (OFMD) and Rebecca Welton (Ted Lasso) both do the “oh shit, I’m in love with this idiot” face. And I just think that’s neat.

Guys it's dawning on me Ted and Rebecca are gonna meet again. I can't believe it. It feels so good.
The writers can deny it as much as they want but you bet your ass they won't be able to resist leaning into the long lost lovers reuniting again in the framing of the scene. I can see it already. You know the one. They have so much love in them they just smile like idiots they can barely stand it.
there are a lot of things about “you’ve got mail” that make it the best romcom ever written, but i think that part of what is so compelling about it is the idea that you can be forgiven. that someone can see the mean, angry, sad, delusional side of you, and that part just becomes a piece of the whole. the whole, which is full of multitudes and possibilities and bravery to start something new. that whatever pride and prejudice you’re bringing to the table—someone will see through it, right down to who you are when you think no one is looking.
Ted and Rebecca could have gone down as one of the best friendships in TV history or one of the best romances in TV history, but they bungled it so much on both fronts that now it won't be remembered as either. #TedLasso.
“even when he's rolling his eyes, he's always paying attention and taking note of little details like that because he loves to make you happy” <- stahppp I’m gonna cry 🥰🥰🥰 I need him
He's just that guy, you know? Like he moans and groans through your favorite rom-com, but you bet your ass that when you're in some small silly fight he does some cute lil gesture inspired by that movie
Like if you love You've Got Mail (my personal faaaaaave since I was basically a toddler), he'd bring you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils as an apology ✏️🩷

Just thinking of how one little moment that could have changed everything
If there had been a moment in the airport scene where it looked like Ted and Rebecca might kiss, or an extended gaze, or even as much as a line of dialogue such as “Imagine if you and I were….”
Doing this would have allowed the characters to “remain platonic” but would have acknowledged the obvious romantic undertones and parallels the show established (and they did establish them) as well as a sop to the concept of “rom communism” (the teaser in the apartment was not playing with the idea it was mocking it).
i’m about to make a second installment of a tedbecca fic i have on ao3 bc i’m still so sad they didn’t even kiss once. that’s literally all i needed. a singular Kiss. i’m a sucker for a will they won’t they but only when they Will
there’s nothing wrong with putting a male and female lead together!!! The whole point of romance is about two well-developed characters with their own interests, watching them develop a friendship and feelings for each other over the course of a show/movie/book
