ROMANS S.O.A.P. ~ CHAPTER 7
I do not do the good things I want to do, but I do the bad things I do not want to do.
[...]
So I have learned this rule: When I want to do good, evil is there with me.
In my mind, I am happy with Godās law.
But I see another law working in my body, which makes war against the law that my mind accepts.Ā
That other law working in my body is the law of sin, and it makes me its prisoner.
~ Romans 7:19, 21-23
I blame distractions and boredom and all manner of other things for not doing what I really want to do...
...when it really boils down to being selfish and self-centered...
I feel - hear? - the arguments but too often plow ahead instead of pulling up short, confessing the desire to give in and asking for the strength to do - and be who - He would have me do and be...Ā
Not to credit myself for being so "holy minded..."
...but let others see Him...Ā
...and give me the peace - His peace - and joyfulness - in Him - that allows me to giveĀ HimĀ thanks and glory...
...and set me free from being sin's prisoner...
Remember the rule:Ā Evil is there with me
Verse 6:Ā serve in newness of theĀ Spirit and not in oldness of the letter.
PRAYER:Ā (using verse 25 - "personalized")
Father God -Ā in my mind I am a slave to [Your] lawĀ - a slave the Christ's redeeming life and sacrifice, to Your grace and mercy -Ā but in my sinful self I am a slave to the law of sin.Ā I thank You for saving me through Jesus Christ [my] Lord!Ā In His Name, and for Your glory...
For Him... for you... for yours!
