Taking some time to think about this, I can imagine that it may have went a couple ways.

They could have tried to take users off website like you had mentioned, possibly trying to get them to add them on whatsapp, telegram, or even Discord to 'be friends' or 'talk about meeting up'.

It's also possible they could have tried to discuss the usual crypto investment scams that come with those fake text messages where someone says they texted the wrong number, tries to be friends, and then tells you about this 'wonderful and great opportunity' that involves 'investing in this totally real (it's really fake)' crypto website that, when you put your information in? Not only steals your information, but it will convince you to invest money, essentially paying the scammers, but it will make you think that you earned money, but then something will happen that then will require YOU to pay money to get it out.

Or the third option, they likely ask where you're from so that they too can say that they're nearby, trying to arrange some method of 'meeting up.' If you agree then it would have possibly involved them asking for money for an uber via paypal or cash app or some other method. If you sent them money, they would have just took it it and ran, or made excuses, tried the 'there's an issue with your paypal account' scam, or asked for more money.

It's really hard to say what type of scam is the end result without someone trying to bait it out safely like I'd mentioned before, so unless someone can do so and tell me what their intentions are, or tell me 'hey this happened and i got scammed this way' from this scam, I guess this one remains open.
