To enhance the properties, usually industrial rollers need surface treatment. Zinc plating is one of the most commonly used. Zinc plating roller is coating the roller surface with a zinc layer by using a current of electricity.

What are the benefits of zinc electroplating to rollers?

1. Corrosion protection: The zinc layer on the metal roller will form a protective zinc oxide layer after being exposed to air and water, which can protect the roller from being rusted, improve the corrosion resistance, and extend its service life.

What is zinc plated roller used for?

Teflon coating is widely applied in roller surface treatment due to its advantages of resistance to extreme temperatures. What is the working temperature range that Teflon roller can withstand? Futian roller will briefly introduce the high temperature and low temperature resistance of Teflon coated rollers.

What is the highest temperature can Teflon roller withstand?

1. The PTFE Teflon roller can generally operate continuously at 260 ℃, which is the maximum continuous temperature. While it can also withstand the maximum intermittent temperature of 400 ℃.

2. We need to know that due to the different types of Teflon coatings, the temperature of Teflon coating rollers that can withstand will also change. For example, PTFE can withstand the high temperature up to 260 ℃, while PFA can only withstand high temperature up to 200 ℃, so we need to select the appropriate Teflon coating for surface treatment of the roller according to the specific application. In fact, the Teflon roller is relatively stable at room temperature, but once the ambient temperature exceeds the acceptable temperature range, the Teflon coating will become unstable and decomposed.

What is the lowest temperature can Teflon roller withstand?

Teflon coating can withstand both high temperature and low temperature. The roller sprayed by Teflon can operate at -190 ℃ for a long time. However, due to thermal expansion and contraction, the Teflon coated rollers will deform. Generally, the safe and effective working temperature of Teflon roller is - 70 ℃.

Polyurethane rubber rollers have many great features: high mechanical strength, good resistance to wearing, aging, oil, etc. Due to these advantages, PU rubber rollers are widely used in conveyor system, paper making, chemical fiber, plastic machinery, etc. But sometimes you may encounter the situation of polyurethane rubber roller degumming. In this article we will analyze the reasons for degumming.

Reasons for degumming of PU rubber roller:

1、Low temperature of polyurethane adhesive will make the curing time not balanced during the molding of PU rubber roller.

2、The PU rubber roller is easily affected by external forces when it is just be de-moulded. If the de-moulding operation is improper, the polyurethane rubber roller is easy to be unglued in future use.

3、If the adhesive of roller core is not evenly applied or the formula is not suitable, the polyurethane rubber layer and the roller core will not bond firmly, which will leads to the degumming.

4、Blisters at the roll core because of improper casting procession will also have the possibility of rubber degumming.

5、The urethane roller core is not cleaned completely after sand blasting.

6、The preheating temperature of the roll core is improperly controlled.

In order to avoid degumming, we need to pay attention to the following aspects:

1、Select appropriate adhesives to bond PU rubber layer and the roller core.

2、The surface of the roller core must be clean and dry. And increase the surface roughness by sandblasting.
