Before I go nap, I thought about this yesterday.
Just because you like having a lot of ships or writing ships, it doesn't automatically warrant not giving your Muse a chance or writing them off as Insert Derogatory Names here.
Because - and I still find this hilarious - I've had Neri called a slut multiple times; fictional or not, it still kind of hurts that for some, that's the take away. Because Neri is slow burn. She's desperate for connection, but terrified of when it presents itself. In fact, I write a lot of touch-scared muses, really.
Which brings back to the point that ships can be friends, companions, lovers that are romantic only. Enemies where the sole purpose of the ship is push and pull, predator chasing prey - its psychological foreplay instead of anything physical. And hell, even if you do like shipping for writing smut, who cares?
Like a lot of things, I just don't feel that a love of shipping of any sort should automatically mean you, your writing or your characters ought to matter any less.

My favourite thing trope with Butters in stories is making him be so loved desperate, not even romanticallyā just so starved. Basically being so in love or feeling loved that theyāre willing to do genuinely bat shit stuff,
or likeā that person doing something to betray Butters trust or love in some way-whether they were good intentioned or not- ending up in butters having a freak out,
or Butters loving a toxic person and constantly interacting despite the pain till a blow out or even still offering everything despite it- making Excuses or whatever.
I donāt care. I just love the trend of just the unhealthy need to be loved with Butters, with how much their often denied consistent common human compassion and itās wearing on them. UwU
