What if we found each other again but we both lost our memories and are now only ghosts of who we were
i love my emotional support mid-aughts bands that haven’t really put out much of anything new but the albums they put out 15+ years ago are still in such heavy rotation because they are GENIUS

Revisited Thomas’ September 2024 playlist and wrote some thoughts! It’s surprising how many songs out there have sad or dark meanings and they’re like bubblegum pop or dance riffs, it’s confusing! Let’s listen some more! lol
A ton of great songs on this list too~ 💙
Episode 125: The Misty Nights of The Ogo-Pogo
There is something in the waters of Lake Okanagan, British Colombia. It is the subject of myths and legends. And It has stymied the likes of both Leonard Nimoy and The History Channel... But We're pretty sure we've got it all figured out. Also, borders. What's up with those?
As always, please come join the episode discussion on the Least Haunted Discord!
Enjoy the images below!
Lake Okanagan as seen from space.
The Syilx People have inhabited The Okanagan Valley and River Shed for thousands of years. To them the lake was sacred and was the home of, as well as the body of a nature spirit called, N’ha-a-itk. Offerings of food, tobacco, and herbs would be ceremonially given to the spirit in exchange for safe travels across the lake.
Susan Allison grew up on the lake as part of one of the early European "Pioneer" families in the area. She was the first non indigenous person to describe a creature in the lake in 1872. She claimed if looked like "A Dinosaur."
In 1924 "the creature" received the name that it is most known by. Ogo-Pogo was a creature described in a English Music Hall song that year. Although the song is not about Okanagan (The Ogo-Pogo was from Hindustan and played the banjo), people around the lake began using the name.
Ever since coming to non-indigenous attention, the search for what is in the lake has gone on.
Captain Shorts, entrepreneur who began hauling passengers and cargo in his row boat up and down the lake, before putting a steam engine on his small boat. He claimed to have found a bone belonging to "The Okanagan Monster" that was actually a whale bone.
For decades the only way to traverse from one end of the lake to the other was by steam ship. Captain Shorts went out of business because he couldn't compete with the railroad owned passenger ships on the lake.
In he early 1970's entrepreneur, Eddie Haymour bought Rattlesnake Island in Okanagan. The Island was traditionally seen as the home of N’ha-a-itk by the Sylix. Eddie wanted to build an amusement park there. The provincial government of British Columbia shut him down. This would lead to him seizing The Canadian Embassy in Beirut Lebanon, and eventually to the British Columbian Supreme Court ruling that a conspiracy had been enacted against Eddie to drive him insane and lose the island.
One possible (and very cute) explanation is that people are misidentifying known animals as Ogopogo. Most notably otters swimming single file. (Image © Joe Nickell)
Other sightings are most definitely waves. Due to the hydrology and geology of the lake itself, freak rogue waves do occur.
