This song is... the first one of the album 7 Steps. It’s about a journey I made through South America with an included trip to Antarctica and the Easter Islands. The feeling I wanted to catch was that of a photo collage, random pictures, feelings and thought passing by the observer. It’s a mellow, moody, mystical start off of the album I think.

The music we are creating is... This is the last single of the our journey and it connects back to the very start as it is the first song of the album. 
 PyraKite gives you a poetic and mystical journey through the classic rock and pop genre. Some may say PyraKite has a unique uplifting and fresh sound.  
 7 Steps is a concept album, which means that it's best experienced from start 'til end. The story of 7 steps (with it's 7 tracks) has got just as many layers to it as you wish.  The journey starts in Antarctica and ends up in space. The music has a happy melodramatic vibe to it and has been compared to the sound of Pink Floyd, Prefab Sprout, The Beatles and Steely Dan mixed with a bit of grunge and poetic touch to it. You might also find a bit of Ben Folds Five, Paul Simon or Rival Sons in there.  
 Hopefully the journey will be both mine and yours

Right now we are... We’re about to sum up our year of 2018. A great first year and our debut 7 Steps. We’re looking out to see if we can reach our goal of 100 000 Spotify streams by the end of the year. Hopefully we’ll get there!

The year 2017 and the first few months of 2018 while writing these songs, was a troubled and difficult time for me personally to say the least. My third and current release, "Don't Be Troubled" reflects this time of loss and heartache. My latest recording is a follow-up to my 2017 EP "Bleed 432", and my 2016 Album "Music House".

The first song and title track, "Don't Be Troubled" tells of three different stories within the song itself. The first tells of love lost and the regrets about things he'd wished he had said.

The second about loss and the pain that comes with the inevitability of our own mortality. The third tells of a woman who plans, and has the beautiful wedding only to later realize that she doesn't love the person she married. Eliza Gilkyson sings harmony, and her beautiful vocals really make the song come alive.

This song is... If Kaytranda and Andre 3000 lived in the basement these sounds would spice up cooking in the kitchen near the basement door!

The music we are creating is... in a new format that I had to use because when I recorded it I was recovering from a brain injury and retiring from the Navy. My lyrics came in spirts and my thoughts were all over the place transitioning back and forth. In the end I realized that this is planting seeds for some one to take what I did much further. It’s still music with a message that jams!

Right now we are... Currently picking the actors for the video we shooting in Jan and lining up the next single called "P.O.M.(Piece of Mine)" as we wrap up the rest of the album!

Artist : Zita Barbara Song: Don’t Stop (Remix) San Antonio, Texas This song is about being conflicted and having a “mind change.” It starts out explaining to a guy who is interested that, “My heart is torn in two.” In a torn state, freaking out over what to do, she lets him go. The song calls him to come back, “Don’t stop coming through the back door…calling from the pay phone…” She is basically calling out for a “Sancho.” Love nowadays is a complicated thing.

Yes, there is a backstory. It’s a very long story. It involves the car crash, running into an old crush, and mixing the two events for inspiration. It sounds like I turned my head to look at a crush and got into a car accident. That’s not what happened. Crushes are weird things that can stay in a system a long time. After the car accident (that had nothing to do with the crush) I grabbed at ideas I had stewing in me from all of my years in music. (It’s what they say, “It takes eleven years to make an overnight star.”) I dug up ideas I started in eight grade choir, high school, and even added some opera. If you didn’t notice “Don’t Stop” has a very “pop-classical” feel? Just take the melody and imagine an orchestra playing it and you will see what I mean.

The music we are creating is... The content being put out is with the belief that the openness and evolving of the market would absorb it. The diversity in music that listeners are willing to hear only allows new music to test itself while keeping the elements of popular genres in mind. These genres which have moved listeners over the years creating a following of its own have stayed back in some form or another. Hope that the music is well received as only then an artist would know whether the direction is correct or not. An artists challenge is always to create something which listeners are able to relate to, at the same time be true to ones soul and style. Have been creating pop rock songs in the past, but making these tracks has been a different experience altogether. Have tried adding artwork which complements the music.

Right now we are... Am working on some more tracks at the moment and doing a bit of writing also. May add vocals to some of them. Lets see how things unfold.

The music biz… like most things in this world, is controlled by major corporations. Although today's artists are able to record inexpensively, do their own marketing, utilize social media, etc.., today's artist's can not rely on getting a record deal, or a promoter to book them tours without first building a following from the ground up. In other words, talent alone, i.e., song writing skills, vocals, musicianship, is not enough to make a living in the business today.  I enjoy performing but mostly enjoy the creative process of writing and recording original songs. Especially songs that connect all of us as humans. I feel there is a healing quality that manifests when we hear songs that touch us, both lyrically and melodically.
