On Thursday, November 14, 2019 fans of all ages gathered at Tribute Communities Centre in Oshawa, Ontario. Starting off the night was indie pop band COIN, from Nashville Tennessee. The band members Chase Lawrence (lead vocals, synthesizers), Joe Memmel (lead guitar, backing vocals) and Ryan Winnen (drums) have been together since 2012, with Matt Martin (bass) joining in 2018. Their current album is How Will You Know If You Never Try. A new album from COIN entitled Dreamland, is expected to release on January 24, 2020. COIN were high energy from the very first song. Lawrence captured the crowd’s attention with his enthusiastic dancing, jumping and singing. He excitedly stated “This is my first time playing in a hockey stadium” which had everyone cheering. This performance was just what the crowd needed to prepare them for the headlining act. Bonnie-Jean Reynolds All photos ©Jason Hodgins 2019
