Ok one of my many thoughts on the little birdies on the captain ship is when during the beginning of their stay Doffy pulling stunts little law did in canon to the pirate captain anytime the reader is like anywhere near Rosi but the captain does not gaf and is like “awww 💕💖💕lil baby💖💕💖”
Like reader tries to pat Rosie’s head for trying his best to help out on the ship despite how clumsy he is and Doffy just up and bites their hand
Captain: Aw what a sweet brother :)
The Crew: captain your arm is covered in your blood…
Captain: i know, isn’t he cute :D💖
Awwww, love the Concerning Doffy-Law Parallels XD
Doflamingo runs violent, yes. He's full of so much anger and hatred toward the world after everything he and his brother have been through, and he doesn't know how to process his own misery other than by lashing out and/or making a nuisance of himself. He flip-flops between biting you over an attempted headpat and demanding attention through the most annoying methods he can come up with, and it only gets worse when he starts to develop some genuine trust in you.
And there's more than the biting! Doffy tries all sorts of things, from tampering with your food to attempted stabbing (if he's feeling especially emotionally unstable). He tests boundaries, gets in your personal space, and makes himself as loud and obnoxious as possible in the effort of proving that you do hate them, after all, that your kindness was a farce, and he was right not to trust you.
He doesn't want to want affection from someone who should be beneath him. He doesn't want to rely on you for safety and a place that feels like home. He hates that you tolerate everything he does with a smile and brush off every annoying or hateful thing he does, like it can all be so easily forgiven. It's not fair. Rocinante might be soft-hearted enough to get attached to their savior, but Doflamingo knows better. He hates you just as much as he hates the rest of the world that failed them. Or at least, that's what he wants to think...
