thoughts on art,,,any thoughts, any art
installation art is incredibly underrated imo! especially ones made from found objects. people are so quick to dismiss found object installations as just "random objects put together" but found object installations are probably one of the best mediums to insert societal commentary in, especially in nonwestern countries. postmodernism has finally allowed poc a chance to comment on colonialism and i think the use of material goods in that really helps get across the repercussions of colonialism.
one of my favorite installation artists is rajyashri goody! she uses a lot of hindu imagery to specifically criticize the caste system and i think a lot of it would be lost or inaccessible if it weren't in a 3d object format. like for example she has a whole sculpture made of used shoes so it ends up commenting on both poverty of the dalit (lowest caste) and how theyre considered beneath the "body" of the caste system (different castes are associated with different body parts in hinduism based on hierarchy). i could talk way more about it but this is already long enough as is. i highly recommend checking the rest of her work out! :)
send me a topic and i’ll give you my thoughts on it!

has kaldur still not shown up yet? ive yet to watch s3
no, he’s in it! we’ve seen him a handful of times and his role in the universe of the show is really important (and a spoiler). he’s just not a part of the main cast, which is really disappointing since his storyline in season two was super interesting.
what’s the preferred hair length for apollo? i love it super long
honestly same! i love it long, either shoulder length or longer--it just really suits him more than the short haircut hes got going on in main continuity. thats an atrocity of a haircut!!

i want to ask for the dark crystal age of resistance but we haven’t finished it yet 😥
i’ll answer whatever questions i can!
Favorite character- deet is very good probably my favorite so far 🥺 but the main three are all great in their own way! i like how distinct each one is in personality and etc
Second favorite character- HUP….BABY
Least favorite character- i meannn pretty much any of the main skeksis? except for chamberlain (he sucks but he’s fun to watch) and the heretic (for obvious reasons)
Favorite moment- so far my favorite moment is when they start singing the mourning song it was so pretty and well done! and also the part where brea discovers lore
i’ll try and get back to this after we finish!
