After adjusting the volume of the loudspeakers and checking the mics you were ready and gave the sign to one of the volunteers that everything was ready and the panels could start. Just 2 minutes later Rich entered the stage and greeted the crowd. They were screaming and clapping their hands, for them Rich really was a super-star and you had to smile. It was crazy how normal your friendship was, although he and Rob were such famous guys, it was adorable how grounded they were in spite of their success. You looked down on you, you had changed in the Louden Swain shirt before the sound-checks, it was a white T-shirt with a print looking like the band-members falling and a little text saying âLouden Swainâ. In fact you really liked the design. They in some way looked like they were flying.
During the panel you were focussed on the technic, so the people could really enjoy the people talking, after Rob and Richs start, there were many more panels, but in fact you just needed to do the setup and told another assistant how to adjust the volume, if that was necessary. When you walked back to the green room you could feel something was different between you and the guys. You sat down next to them, you sensed that you really hurt them, when you first refused the shirt. For some moments you said nothing. Suddenly your phone rang. You saw the number of the radio station where you were working.Â
âHello, Cloe whatâs up?â you answered the phone.
âWhere are you Y/N? Why arenât you here?â she asked in a harsh voice.
âItâs Saturday, I donât work today. â you answered in a shaky voice. She sounded upset, something happened. Rob watched your conversation, but you couldnât notice anything other than the voice coming from the speaker.
âWrong. You have your day off at Sunday. Did you ever read your contract?â Cloe scolded you. âAlso you left far too early yesterday. Is this job just some joke to you.â She kept going. Tears welled up in your eyes.
âSorry, Cloe. IâŠâ you looked at the time, it was already noon.
âWe saw some pictures of you on the internet, did you leave for a TV-convention?â Cloe asked, but she didnât gave you time to answer.
âHonestly.. Y/N⊠what did you think?â Your mouth was dry and you couldnât say anything.
âCloe⊠I⊠I can be there in an hour.â You tried with a broken voice.
âNo, Y/N. Thatâs not necessary. You donât have to come here. Like ever again.â
When you heard this words, you couldnât breathe. âPlease⊠Cloe.. I need this job.â You pressed out, tears now streaming down your cheeks. âYou should have thought about his earlier. Bye, Y/Nâ she told you and ended the call. You starred at your phone. What the f⊠just happened? You couldnât control your emotions anymore, without looking at anybody you stood up and left the room. You needed some space, you donât know where you were heading, but you needed to get away. Eventually you sat down in a silent corner, buried your face in your hands and just cried. That couldnât be true, you needed this job, you needed the money, you didnât know how to get by without this money. Your whole world just broke down.
You didnât know how long you were sitting there, when suddenly something touched your shoulder. âAre you dead?â a shy voice asked. You slowly looked up, a little girl stood in front of you. âI guess not.â You said silently and tried to smile. âBut you are sad. I can see that, you were crying.â She deducted âMy dad says itâs okay to be sad sometimes.â She then continued. âBut I donât want you to be sad.â The little girl came closer and hugged you when you heard someone ask loudly âMaison, what are you doing? I told you not to run away again.â
The girl stepped back a bit. âI found a friend, Daddy. But she is sad, so I said thatâs okay to be sad.â She said and gripped your hand. When the man came closer to see what the girl meant you wiped away your tears. âIâm sorry, I justâŠâ you tried to answer, but you didnât know what to say. Again tears welled up in your eyes. But the man just smiled, sat down on the floor next to you an took Maison, the girl on his lap. âLike Maison said, itâs okay to be sad.â He smiled and just sat there. âYou donât have to sit here. You surely have better things to doâ you sobbed. âMaison said, that you are her friend, and friends shouldnât be alone, when they are sad.â He reassured and Maison still held your hand. âSo, Iâm Misha, and I would be happy if you want to be my friend as well.â He introduced himself. You stared at him, then you nodded âIâm Y/Nâ. You didnât know anything else to say, so you just stayed silent for a moment.
There was so much going on in your head, but you couldnât say anything. âDaddy. Why isnât she saying anythingâ Maison asked her Dad âI think she just needs some time.â He answered and looked at you âBut she knows that we are her friends, and we are here, if she wants to say anything.â You nodded and smiled slightly, but then everything hit you again and you started to cry like before, you would lose everything, your little room, your place at university, your friends. You put your head on your knees and couldnât yourself together. Misha carefully put his arm around you âItâs okay.â He whispered, âItâs okay.â Â
He waited there, next to you until you had your things together again. âMaison, could you get our friend something to drink, you know where you can get something.â Maison nodded and ran away, happy she could help with something. âThank youâ you whispered and leaned into his shoulder. âWanna talk about what happened?â he asked kindly, a few more tears rolled down your cheeks. âI guess I just lost my job.â You sobbed and you started to tremble a little. âShhh.. Itâs okay.. I got you.â Maison returned with a bottle of soda. âHere Y/N. Itâs my favourite.â She smiled and gave you the bottle. âThank you, Maison. You are a true heroâ you told her when you took the bottle.
âY/N? Where are you?â you heard a well-known voice. âY/N?â Rob sounded desperate, when he saw Misha he acted surprised âMisha, why are you sittingâŠâ Maison stood up and waved to Rob âHello Robbie! Dad said I could come here with him.â She smiled. Rob painfully smiled at her, when he saw you sitting next to Misha.
âY/N!â Rob grasped. âThank God!â He came closer, sat down at the floor. âEverything okay?â he asked, when he saw your red, swollen eyes. âY/N is my friend now!â Maison said proudly. âI found her and I got her my favourite drink!â Misha smiled âYou did very well, Maison.â He pulled her close gently and placed a kiss on her head. âIâm so proud of youâ, he said. âBut I think Robbie is also a friend of Y/N.â
You looked at Rob. You still didnât know his last name. He seemed relieved and sad at the same time. âItâs okay.â You answered. You didnât want him to know that your whole life is crumbling. He looked at you and you knew he didnât believe you, but you couldnât tell him anything. You lost your job because you came here and you came here because of Rich and him.
âMaison, I think we should take our bags to our room.â Misha told his daughter. âI guess there will be more time for you to spend time with your friend. Robbie will be here for her. And we will see her later. Promise.â He winked at you, took Maisons hand and they left.
When the two of them were gone Rob gently took your hand and said nothing. He just was there, sometimes he hummed a silent melody until it dawned to me âWhatâs with the convention?â you asked. âRich and Matt are doing the host thing at the moment. I had to know that you were okay. You looked terrified when you left the Green Room. I was worried.â You looked into his eyes. âIâm sorryâ you admitted. âfor rushing off. It was justâŠâ you looked at the floor again ââŠit was just too much.â Rob sat next to you and softly pulled you into a hug and said nothing. âAnd I really like your shirt.â You smiled and he smiled as well. âThatâs good, âcause I really want to wear it to the concert tonight.â
The rest of the day went by very quickly. Sure, you still thought a lot about how your life would go on, but on the other hand you wanted to enjoy the weekend. You couldnât do anything about your problems now, so you could try to forget them, at least for tonight. Sometimes you caught Rob or Rich gazing at you, but you didnât say anything about your breakdown.
You learned, that Misha, Maisons Dad, was in fact one of the most famous actors of the show, along with two very nice guys called Jensen and Jared, who arrived later in the evening. In the afternoon you played a bit with Maison and watched some of the panels. Before the concert there was some free time for getting ready, since you still had no room on your own you again walked into the room with Rob and Richard. âCould you stop looking at me like thatâ you said, when you saw Richards glance. âIâm okay. Really.â They both nodded, but you felt, that they still didnât believe you.
They put on some fresh clothes for the concert, this time more basic things. T-Shirts and Jeans. When it was time for the soundcheck you headed downstairs, everything went well, the crowd was so happy with them. And you, once again, were impressed how different those guys were on the stage.
After the last song you turned off the speakers and the microphone, shut down the whole system and left the room. You were ready to head home and wanted to say goodbye to everybody, when Rob came and looked confused âWhat are you doing? You promised, you would stay for some drinks tonightâ you smiled knowing âI know, butâŠâ
âNo, please. You promised! Iâm sure we find something where you can stay. You can stay in my bed â Iâll sleep on the couch. Or something like that. But please stay.â He pleaded.
âRob..â you tried to answer, but suddenly a bunch of people passed, including Richard âAre you ready?â Rich asked you. âWe are heading to a very comfy bar for a beer, or twoâŠâ he smiled and then took your hand, so you couldnât say no. âBut..â you tried a last time, but Rich smiled and said âIt will be a nice evening, sugar. We got you.â
When Rich noticed, that you wouldnât leave, he released your hand. The bar was, like Rich said, very cozy, shortly after the whole group got there, Rich left to pick up drinks for everybody. He came back with some beer, you thought about it, but then took one, like Rob said, there will be some place to stay and you felt like you needed that beer now. It was a very nice evening, a bit like the evening, when you met the band for the first time. After a while the alcohol was kicking in and it was easier for you to forget what happened. You were dancing with Sebastian and Matt, every once in a while somebody gave you something new to drink and so the evening went by.
Little by little the people left until just Rich, Rob and you were left. âI think itâs time to goâ Rich said and you shook your head. Rich gently took your hand âCome on, Y/N, itâs late.â â âI donât wanna goâ you whined, but as Rob took your other hand and they both guided you to the exit you went with them. âThank you, guys.â You babbled âThis was a great last weekend. â you smiled. Rob looked at you âWhat do you mean?â he asked. âI mean, I guess, I will live on the street from now on, I lost my joâŠâ you stumbled and fell hard, you scraped your knee and your left hand. It hurt âOuch.. Why is all this happening to meâ you mumbled. Rich and Rob looked at each other for a moment before the helped you up and brought you back to the hotel. Â

Pairing: Rob Benedict x reader
Summary: Driving home and Saturday morning
Word Count: 2100
Warnings: none i guess
Notes: Iâm back! I just felt it would be right to come back with a nice, short chapter, I still hope you enjoy it. There will be more soon (hopefully). Until then, have fun with part 4!
You couldnât forget how Rob looked at you, you nearly felt the touch of his fingertips on your cheek the whole ride home. A smile was tugged at your face when you got home and entered your flat, it was late already and you just wanted to take a shower before heading to bed, because you had to get up soon tomorrow. So you turned up the hot water and let it stream over your body, it felt good, your tensed muscles hurt a bit, but the warmth of the water did itâs part, after a short while it got better, a bit. You dried yourself, put on a cozy sleepshirt and put yourself into bed.
The next morning you woke up early, maybe you were nervous about seeing Rob again at the con today, maybe you were just hungry, you hadnât eaten anything since yesterday at lunch. You looked for something in eatable in your kitchen, but except some dry muesli and a wrinkled apple you were out of food. Sure, you hadnât got your money by now and you donât had anything left. Normally you would have gone dumpster diving yesterday, you did it nearly every Friday, but as you were out of town yesterday you totally forgot about it. You had no other choice, so you put some water to the muesli and cut the apple into little pieces, and mixed it up a bit. It didnât taste so bad, but it was too little to satisfy your hunger. You had to go home earlier today from the con to get some food for the rest of the week.
You recognized some of the people you got to know yesterday, this one very young guy, Matt, looked like he would fall asleep during eating, the short-haired woman, Kim, you thought, stirred in her muesli, when she looked up she shot you a friendly smile. âMorning⊠You are the sound-technician from yesterday, uhhmâŠ, Y/N, right?â she asked, her voice was low; you could tell they were out long yesterday.
âI am. Iâll help you guys with the sound system the whole weekend, so Iâm afraid you will have me around a bit longer. â, you answered and smiled. âThatâs fine with me, you seem like a nice person, but you should stay tonight, after the concert, you missed out the funniest part yesterday.â she told you and you nodded with a wide smile on your face. âSeems like everyone was out yesterday, that surely is a lot of fun, but I think I have to go home tonight as well, I think the hotel is fully booked.â You said and hoped this was true, you didnât check that, but you were sure you couldnât afford a room here, so you needed an excuse. Kim nodded âMaybe we will find a solution, I would bid you the couch in my room for a night, but Iâm afraid itâs not very comfortable.â She said and laughed. âBut Iâm sure weâll figure something out.â
Then Rob came back, he had a tablet with two cups of coffee, some fruit, two muffins and some other things on it. âHi Kimâ he greeted and put the tablet on the table next to her, then he turned to you âI think you have to eat something with me, nobody can say no to a cup of coffee and a chocolate-chip-muffin with extra chocolate.â He smiled widely and placed the plate with a part of the things he got in front of you. âIâŠâ you started to decline, but your stomach betrayed you âSee, nobody can resist the charm of a chocolate-muffin.â Rob giggled and took a sip of his coffee. âThank you.â You mumbled and took a bite of the muffin. It tasted delicious, you had to control yourself not to munch. âWow! It tastes awesome.â You made to say and took another bite, you were totally focussed on the muffin, so you didnât realise that Rob watched you. When you nearly finished eating you recognized his plate was still nearly untouched. You looked at him and your eyes met his for a second, he smiled and took a sip of his coffee âYou sure you donât want anything else for breakfast?â Rob asked. âYou can take what you wantâ he shoved this tablet in your direction, you shook your head âThatâs all yours. You havenât had anything today and it will probably be a long, exhausting day, at least what I witnessed of a fan-convention.â You said and shoved the tablet back into his direction âI think Iâll stick with coffee and some toast with butter, I think itâs for the best at the moment.â He took a piece of toast and spread some butter on it âYou sure?â you asked, he just nodded and took a bite. You didnât want to look as hungry as you were, so you just took some pieces of fruit and ate them slowly. A few minutes you sat there quietly, focussed to not eat too much and too fast.
Suddenly someone covered your eyes from behind and you totally spilt your coffee all over your unfortunately white shirt. A voice behind you started to laugh. âRich, stop it.â you said a bit annoyed when you recognized the voice. Rob quickly took the coffee cup from you to avoid that you empty the rest of the coffee. âJesus! Rich? Whatâs wrong with you? Are you still drunk?â he said bugged.
When he realized what happened Rich stopped laughing, the hands which covered your eyes disappeared and you saw a pale, guilty looking face. âSorry.â Rich said and tried to dry your shirt with some napkins. âLuckily the coffee wasnât hot anymore.â Rich tried to apologize. âYeah.â You said. âGood news, I donât need a doctor, guys. Iâm just looking like a Dalmatian dog.â You said, giggling a bit about your silly comparison. When Rich saw you werenât mad he released his breath. âIndeed. But you have to train the puppy-eyes.â He said smiling. âBut I think we can do something about that.â Rich added âAnd I think we have to prepare you for tonightâs concert as well, so itâs not that bad. Wait a minute, sugar. Iâm right back.â
Confused you looked to Rob, he seemed to know what Richard was doing because he just smiled âI give that to him, itâs not a bad idea.â He just said to you and took another bite of his toast. âIn fact I have some clothes in my car, I think I will just get them.â You said a bit unsure. Rob shook his head âYou donât need to, Rich will be back in just a minute.â He said an as he finished the familiar face entered the room again. He smirked as he saw your insecure glance. âHere you are, madam. A brand new Band-shirt from the best band at the convention.â He said and gave you a white shirt with some print on it, it was folded so you couldnât see what was written on it, but instead of taking it you just shook your head. âI canât take that.â You said. Rich just threw you a confused look. He didnât know that you couldnât afford a band-shirt and you didnât want to tell him. You didnât want to seem like you were just here for the money of these guys, because you werenât, but they were actors, pretty famous actors, they surely would think that.
âY/NâŠâ Rob started âI know you donât know Louden Swain that long, you probably know only the songs we played at your radio station.â His voice sounded a bit hurt â...but I would love to see you in a Louden Swain shirt, just one time, also we donât have a lot of time left until the panels start and we⊠or actually you⊠have to do the sound-check and so on.â He said and took the shirt from Rich to give it to you again. âPlease, Y/N⊠If you really canât take it as a present you can give it back afterwards. Just-â He said looking on the floor.
âWait..â you interrupted âas a present? You⊠you just wanna give that to me?â Rich pulled up his eyebrows. âSure, what did you⊠Wait, did you think we just want to increase the sales?â he asked back. You shook your head âIt was a misunderstanding, I guess, I would be honoured to wear your band-shirt, Robâ you said âjust if the offer is still on the table, of course.â Rob and Rich exchanged a short glance and Rob nodded âSureâ he just said, but his voice was a bit insecure. âI think we have to head to the green rooms, we shouldnât forget that there is work to do.â Rich said. âSee you later, Y/N.â he added. You didnât know if that was a question or a statement, but you answered âSure. See you later.â Then you all got up, the guys went to the greenroom, where you were yesterday and you went to the sound machines to do the sound-check before the panels started. The atmosphere between you and the both of them were kinda awkward when you split up, you just could hope you didnât break the friendship, which was between you three.
