I think I would have enjoyed the object-passing more if it hadn’t been so obviously a set up for the lightsaber passing at the very end. (Also!! Leia’s lightsaber should have been a different color, like green, so it would have obvious who had which saber. I think Ben ended up with Luke’s, but it would have been more poetic if he had his mom’s tbh)

The plot stuff was definitely very heavy-handed and way too much exposition. Palpatine needed to talk like 10 minutes less and also they should have cut the entire desert planet sith-knife hunting thing.
IMHO Lando should have joined the rebel base at the beginning of the movie and he’s the one that sends the gang to the Death Star coordinates to find the sith pathfinder. Boom, saved us all an unnecessary 45 minutes of sitting in a theater.

I'm not sure if you noticed, but the article about phonics you posted a few hours ago actually says that systematic phonics is the best way to teach kids when combined with the "getting them to learn to enjoy reading and take out meaning" stuff. I'm not trying to call you out or anything but perhaps your comment on the article could be a bit more nuanced instead of just saying that systematic phonics is the reason why so many people can't read, because that is almost the exact opposite of what the article you linked says about the subject.
This is fair to point out, I'm mostly mad about the No Child Left Behind Act that messed things up for a lot of kids, and the specific version of phonics that they wanted implemented is only a part of it. Phonics is an of itself is not a bad thing, and like you said, utilizing some form of it is actually necessary. I was het up about the US education system again and did not explain properly 😔
