Summary: Picture this: You're Clark Kent, finishing a story while in Gotham. You hear Batman's young sidekick patrolling alone and decide to go introduce yourself to him, forgetting you're in civilian clothes.
Comments: This is a fic full of misunderstandings, but also Clark being a tiny bit of an asshole. Poor Dick thinks that he’s being chased by a strange meta who keeps cornering him, sending him into a panic, and Bruce is not at all happy with how Clark handled things, to the point where things strain their new working relationship.
Dick Grayson, y'all.
Bruce's #1 security risk
As much as I snorted at Dick's comment at the end here, this is such a good moment. Bruce talks earlier in this run about how he never considered people grieve differently until he's taking care of Dick, and this is a clear flashback to Bruce's.
Bruce's grief 100% impacts what he does while wearing the cowl. Dick less so, though it's part of his motivation. A lot of Batman & Robin Year One is them learning how to interact (and Alfred really, really hoping Dick learns not to leave clothes strewn about) and this is such a key learning moment that I feel like Dick doesn't 100% get yet, but maybe by the end of this issue.

I always thought the cave was big, but not this massive.
It's heavily implied here that a lot of Bruce's safehouses are buildings that are hooked into the cave system, allowing him to avoid traffic all together as he uses the cave to travel between Gotham locations. I doubt no one hasn't discovered a part of this cave system yet, but for it to be so well build up, I only have one question and Dick has it too:
