i don't know if covid-19 actually impacted the storyline of BZ to be more character driven, but seeing the note about it in the credits put everything into perspective (and was what made me CRY)

ryley's goal is pure survival but we hear nothing about his inner monologue or him processing it all

robin makes voice notes, many conversations with another character also processing grief and survivor's guilt. evey character that is heard but not physically present (due to leaving voice recordings) has stories or even photos, memorabilia. Robin gets pictures of her fat ass cat 💀 bless that Potato

Hell, Robin's sister talking about her hair routine made me chuckle and sold me on the game. Maybe because I have similar curly hair problems. But it was so human...!
