Mr. Sampson of Downpatrick, while building a drystone wall, pulled this rock out of the ground and filled a great big gap, saving him a whole lot of digging and lifting!! Well, he probably built the wall up on either side of the rock and used it in situ, but now he can rest after his labours! Resting on the pointy bits by National Library of Ireland on The Commons Via Flickr: I've been fascinated by Cromlechs/Dolmens ever since I saw my first one in Ballina as a 10 year old, and really enjoy looking at them and wondering at the strength and ingenuity of the ancients who put them together. This one, in or near Dundalk, is an especially fine specimen with the capstone resting on those very precise and sharp points. Is it still there, and whereabouts is it?
