He’s become more accustomed to dogs of late -- Will’s pack in wolf trap having grown on him in the months he’s spent coming by to watch them while Will is away on FBI business -- but if Hannibal had to choose between cats or dogs, he’d certainly acknowledge that cats were more suitable to his lifestyle.  ( He sees the thing outside his home, notices it from the sliding door leading to the dining room.  He’s on his way to the kitchen to finish a dish, and stops to look at the creature on the other side of the glass. )

Hannibal disappears into the kitchen and returns to the glass with a sliver of raw meat in his hand.  ( perhaps it’s will’s influence.  picking up strays, now. )  He slides the door open, the snow outside a severe contrast from the warmth of his home, and holds the strip of meat out. 

「      ♛      」.        𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓  𝐓𝐇𝐄  𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐋  ?  𝐇𝐄'𝐒  𝐋𝐎𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐆  𝐈𝐓 .  𝐇𝐄'𝐒  𝐆𝐎𝐓𝐓𝐀  𝐁𝐄  .  that  mouser’s  been  DEAD  on  the  side  of  the  road  for  days  now   .   hitting  it  was  an  ACCIDENTAL  mishap  ,  drunk  on  the  way  home  from  one  of  tina’s  parties  ,  mangy  thing  ran  right  out  in  front  of  his  fucking  headlights  .  cigarette’s  pulled  from  lips  .  he  ceases  pushing  lawn  mower  &  an  arm  heavily  wipes  sweat  dripping  from  his  forehead  ,     ❝      you  gotta  be  shittin’  me   .      ❞     blinking  through  long  lashes  ,   brows  furrow   &  marlboro  filter's  wedged  again  .  part  of  him  is  CURIOUS  enough  to  make  an  approach   ,  wondering  ,  how  the  fuck  is  it  still  alive  ?   but  the  other’s  not  digging  the  idea  of  catching  whatever  𝑺𝑻𝑹𝑨𝑵𝑮𝑬  𝑫𝑰𝑺𝑬𝑨𝑺𝑬  is  plaguing  hawkins  .  brawny  limbs  drape  over  bail  switch  &  squinting  blues  investigate  while  formulating  any  RATIONAL  explanation for  what  he’s  witnessing  ,  but  there’s  none  to  be  found  .   the  rotting  cat  he  set  on  fire  back  in  california  STAYED  LIFELESS  after  it’d  been  killed  ,  he   watched  it  decompose  until  the  day  he  moved  .   𝙰𝙿𝙿𝙰𝚁𝙴𝙽𝚃𝙻𝚈   𝚃𝙷𝙸𝚂  𝙾𝙽𝙴’𝚂  𝙳𝙴𝙲𝙸𝙳𝙴𝙳  𝚃𝙾  𝙲𝙾𝙼𝙴  𝙱𝙰𝙲𝙺  &  𝙷𝙰𝚄𝙽𝚃  𝙷𝙸𝙼  .

   Pete was a fan of animals. He has always wanted a pet while growing up but being in apartments always prevented that -- plus he had school to worry about and he didn’t want to add anymore stress to his aunt. On his way back home, he noticed a peculiar cat. He recognized it as the one he helped the other day and he tilted his head, wondering how exactly it got here. It didn’t follow him , did it?
