I'd say the new chapter is about 2/3 done, but at the speed I'm writing I can't say for sure when it'll be published but I hope it's within this year, or at least in time for Bonten's first anime appearance haha

Well, know that I have this to say: Kakucho, just go with that decent, emotionally healthy person and forget about Yua. It's for your own good.
Actually, even within ROAC itself, I kinda saw Kakucho forgetting about Yua, sometimes almost entirely, with all the mess and chaos he's gotten into with RokuTan/KMG/Bonten. Though, she was always kind of at the back of his mind in a way where he'd subconsciously compare other girls/women to her. I guess it's largely because after a while, he kind of gave up on the chance of meeting her again.
So, in an alternate timeline, this might have happened...
Kakucho reconnects with an old friend (let's say elementary school friend) and they became something serious, with that old friend always bringing him fond memories from childhood.
The go on a date and visit a Chinese restaurant. A waitress comes to take their order. Kakucho finds her familiar, and an itch starts to form in his brain.
But his significant other places their hand on his, teases him about staring at other girls, and he forgets chasing that itch entirely. They finish their meal and leave happily.
Meanwhile...
Yua's been waitressing part-time at a Chinese restaurant (referred to by Chu-jie) to earn extra cash and help pay off her aunt's debts. She has no time for a personal life at all.
One day, a couple comes in for a meal. While taking their order, Yua finds the man with the scar very familiar, but brushes the thought away.
She people-watches during her break and while observing the couple, briefly wonders what it would be like being happy with someone who gets her.
However, duty calls and she remembers that that's just not the life for her, and she goes back to work without thinking about that man again.
TLDR: In this timeline, Kakucho and Yua have let each other fade away into obscurity as they lead their parallel lives.
(I'm sorry anon Idk if this is angst enough, especially because it's not written in prose form but this is what I got off the top of my head!!)

Oh oh oh this is such an interesting question!! Tbh I haven't really wondered about how Yua would be like with a kid of her own, but I know without a doubt that she's BAD with kids 💀 She can barely stand Atsuko, let alone an actual child LMAO
She'll be really awkward around a kid because she simply wouldn't know how to talk or interact with them. Like is she supposed to talk to them sensibly or what?? And what's with all their questions?? Will it really be the end of the world if she tells them to stfu??? Baby talk and affection are reserved for Pierre and Pierre only PERIOD.
Considering her past and all that she's been through, she'd be really wary about bringing a child into the world--actually, she'll straight up not want kids. She knows she won't be a good mother either because she doesn't see herself as the patient, nurturing type. That's why she's really careful about not getting pregnant.
IF she does get pregnant though, she'll probably want to get an abortion, especially if she doesn't know who the father is/doesn't think the father will be any good. But if she happens to be pregnant with the child of a man she trusts, she'll go through with it and come to love the child.
I think she'll be the kind of mom who's somewhat cold and inadvertently give her kid some mommy issues lmao (especially if it's a son), even if she does love it. She'll be more caring and protective if it's a daughter though!!

I think after Kisaki came out, Izana gave Kakucho the job of putting together the s62 generation for Tenjiku. During the depression due to the death of Shinichiro, Izana let everyone go, so after leaving the reform school, s62 joined other gangs, and were not next to Izana. now maybe Izana was defeating other gangs and gathering people for Tenjiku while Kakucho was gathering s62. It seems to me that Haitani would not dare to put conditions before the imperious Izana, but they went for Kakucho

My headcanon about what happened was that Izana met the S-62 in prison and knuckled them down. They had some kind of agreement and plan to form a gang (and engage in actual criminal activities), but didn’t get to do much as they all got released at separate times and went their ways.
After Izana’s release, he met up with Kakucho to officially start Tenjiku (they named it together) and he instructed Kakucho to gather and invite the S-62 (and other members). Kakucho hit the Haitani’s up, and they took the opportunity to impose the condition about their tokko-fuku (despite already having intentions to join anyway lmao). Like what’s stated in CB3, stuff like that doesn’t matter to Kakucho so he’s like “yeah, whatever” and the rest is history. I don’t think Izana was jealous, just annoyed and salty that the Haitani’s are standing out, so he blamed Kakucho for it LOL. (The whole incident was written in a really light-hearted way in CB3, so I don’t think Izana was seriously mad/upset.)
I guess it’s different from my original HC, where it’s Izana who invited them and introduced them to Kakucho, who wanted it to be just Izana and him. I love Wakui’s canon story way better though! But I’ll have to rewrite the scene between Kakucho and Haitani in ROAC Chapter 1 a bit…!
