Lemme just say though that all the chapter names in this movie are like a little on the nose in my opinion, but like , I doubt the writer is big on subtlety. So, the movie starts with the whole hijack scene and I find it really interesting how Maddy and Akshaye's hairlines have been interchanged for the movie. Also, here we get a pretty violent scene and this brings up the topic of violence, and, let me put it this way, I do not like gore, but I am also an advocate for free speech. I mean slap an appropriate rating on the thing and follow that strictly, u should be good to go. Here's the thing, art and society impact each other. If violence is a part of society, it will be a part of art, or maybe, its the other way around, who knows? Also, after so many years of movie watching, I can pretty much tell when something bloody is gonna happen and I manage to avert my eyes in time, mostly, that is. Then, we have the Parliament attack sequence which is quite sad but there's really nothing else I can add to it other than say that this involved some pretty awesome casting.
Then we get Ranveer's introduction on a song that confuses the shit out of me cuz why is his' hausla aiyash ',can someone please explain that. Anyway, I would like to take a moment to give a shoutout to whoever did the set design because boy does it look incredibly realistic. At this point we also see a poster with a very constipated looking Akshaye Khanna, and what a disservice that picture is to the beauty of that man (please be prepared for me to get distracted like this every time he's on screen) but that is a nitpick and I'm getting ahead. This is when we see Gaurav Gera reciting a rather catchy jingle but here's the thing, I really, really don't wanna know what milk and soda are doing together in whatever drink he is making. Anyway, then Ranveer gets attacked and maybe its just me, but with how large he is in this movie, I feel like he could've taken the goons but what do I know about combat. Also, this gross man tries to r- word him and he is saved by the arrival of a police car. Then he kinda falls asleep on a dumpster which I really wish he hadn't in case he had a concussion, which gratefully he didn't. Next we learn that his name is Hamza and I kinda love how he actually looks mad that his eating is being interrupted by Gaurav Gera's questioning. Then, he starts working at the juice shop and I just wanna say that my hair would not be able to survive what his hair did and also, I honestly don't know how he's getting the protein requirements of his very large frame but that's a nitpick. Then a year has passed and we get a slightly better picture of Rehman(Akshaye) and we see that Hamza cries while eating the food he's given but like I'm not sure why this happens and I read this hilarious comment which said that oh cuz he is a vegetarian and has to eat non vegetarian food and I'm like ya, out of everything going on with him , that would be the one to make him cry. Also, we get a little snippet of his past, probably something to do with his parents and that probably has something to do with Punjab. After that, we get the salty tea scene and I do love the song choice, also, I can't even begin to imagine how long Gaurav Gera's been there but like, I don't get why they're having such a loud discussion, like the shopkeeper is right there. Needless to say, this movie is not good for my anxiety. Also, here we learn that Rehman is dangerous cuz he killed his mum in a fit of rage, which like, overreaction much, Rehman. And with that, part 2 ends and so does this part of the review and I'll upload the next one soon ( like anyone cares) .
