Jongsuk was eager to get some work done for the evals at seocho before the evals actually happened. he was good on his vocals and everything, it was just his dancing that he needed to work on. he would have worked with his fellow trainees from trc but he was already seeing them every day at the company, that he kind of had enough of them for the time being. so he slipped on his converse sneakers and headed to a practice room in seocho.
he wandered the halls, looking around for an empty practice room. he peeked into one room and stepped in, since it was empty. he set aside his bag and put on his headphones and began dancing. single steps, turns, and shuffles. jongsuk had the music in his ears and the floor beneath his feet. it was like he was off in his own little world, enough to not even notice people come in.

Stereotypes and prejudice usually wasn’t a good way to navigate, but sometimes it was all you had to go by. Telling an entirely new person who didn’t know the faces of anyone in the building that he should go find his new teacher in dance after breakfast monday was very handy when he didn’t remember the face of the man. Jinwoo had no idea where to even start, and the more he thought about it, the more terrifying this whole ordeal became. Sure he had allowed himself lots of time because he knew it was going to be mission impossible. Sure he wasn’t about to let down anyone at least within the next 15 minutes, but those seemed like they could easily tick away quite fast.
Instead he laid eyes on a person he vaguely remembered having seen about the building before in the past short time he had been there. No matter how you looked at it, his appearance didn’t really scream idol, so he didn’t think the other would be a fellow trainee. There was a chance, and a chance was all he needed right now. “Excuse me!” he called out to the obviously older male and ran the short distance to catch up. He then bowed his upper body in a rigid and very awkward manner. “Are you the one I need to find? I was... I was told that I have to meet my dance instructor today, but I’m not really sure I caught the name and I can’t remember what he looked like. I was kind of nervous...” The last bit was admitted reluctantly, but if the man really was his dance teacher, he had no way out of explaining why he had to hit him up in such a way.
Kris wanted to be happy for everyone who made it into ktrookies. he wanted to be happy, so he congratulated everyone with a big smile and a 'you worked hard. good job'. it was easy to put on a smile, to say congratulations. Kris had to do that everyday, he knew how to act like he was glad. But on the inside, he was frustrated. Was he really not worth all that much? It would have been easier if everyone who made it had been older trainees, but no, there were people who were signed at the same time as Kris and he felt upset. What did they have that he didn’t?
He was aiming to find Gary , because at least the older would know his feelings. they were signed at the same time and both were rappers. maybe talking with him would make kris feel better. seeing gary, he waved. “yo, man.” he said, sitting down across him.
« JIHYUN UNNIE! SHOW HIM WHAT YOU’VE GOT! »
royal 👑 survival interview (episode 2)
she feels much more at ease this time around when she sits in front of the white background and waits for the staff to throw questions at her. all the girls go through it at some point or another and they more or less know what is being asked. eunae knows they are going to question her about the vtr, about how she think she did, about the other girls, maybe. what you can't ever expect is the way your answers will be treated through cuts and edits and perceived by the public. but since there isn't anything she can do about it, she might as well answer as honestly as possible.
she once again discreetly taps her feet against the floor, itching to move but forcing herself not to for the sake of the interview. at least she gets to speak, which is enough to distract her unlike school where she has to listen to someone else ramble on and on for hours while trying to stay awake. she really isn't cut out for higher education.
« what did you think of seeing your performance on the final version of the vtr? »
she expected that question, they all did. it doesn't mean she practiced what she is going to say, though, so she actually needs a few seconds to gather her thoughts as they clash in her head. "it looked so professional! like, super well edited... we filmed for a long time but when you look at it you'd expect it's been done in one take! we looked like a real team, which i guess was kind of the whole point of it, right?" it's amazing how technology can put clips together so smoothly it looks effortless, hiding the multiple mistakes, the breaks, the sweat. it's not at all like performing on stage once and just hoping for the best.
« what would you change, if anything, about your performance? »
she smiles as she remembers the ceo and the dance trainer's praises. so far she's been getting the lucky end of the stick, unlike some of the other girls who keep being pushed back. she thinks it's all due to dancing this time around. it's not everyone's cup of tea and while she isn't the best dancer, she's definitely among the strongest here. if there's ever a singing round, however, she doubts so jisub's comments will remain the same. "filming this kind of video takes a lot of time and at some point you get really tired, right? so it's not always easy to keep the same level of energy. since i had to stand in the center at the beginning i knew i had to look like it was the first time every time but that was really hard. so i think next time i want to work on my expressions more! they said i did well, though, so i'm really happy about that!"
« who do you, personally, believe should be on the major and minor teams? »
crap. while she did expect them to tackle the major or minor subject, she never really wondered who would deserve to be in the major team and who... doesn't. since she's still lacking herself, she's not really in any place to judge anyone but since they're asking, she might as well tell it as it comes. "after this performance, i think the current major team is as it should be since it was dance oriented. seoyoung, seolhyun unnie, yubin unnie and jieun unnie did very well so they deserve their spot. elly unnie worked really hard too, i saw her practice late until she could barely stand so i hope she can make it to the major team soon! soohyun isn't a strong dancer but she has that cute charm you can't help falling for, you're drawn to her no matter what! and of course, i want to see jihyun unnie on the major team! i think maybe ceo-nim is challenging her because he knows she can give so much. you can do it, jihyun unnie! show him what you've got!" she laughs and lifts both her fists to cheer on her friend. "fighting!"
« tell us about your personal motivations/inspirations that led you here today »
"i've always been very bold, maybe a bit too much?" she chuckles, picturing her sister's serious look whenever she did something she wasn't supposed to. "i love new challenges, it's exciting and you learn more about yourself than by sticking to what you know. i'm just happy i was given the chance to try and see where it could take me. i'm still lacking a lot but if i'm here it means they saw something, right? so i have just as much chance as anybody else. i'm going to do my best without regret!"
« tell us a little about your family/friends who are supporting you on the show »
there are so many people she could name, so many who are important to her and who have been cheering her on. there's also a few who tried to dissuade her from coming here, questioning her motivations and loyalty, but it's not use thinking of them right now. they don't really matter in the grand scheme of things. "i come from a big family! there's mom, dad, grace, tammy, mark and joey!" she hasn't heard a whole lot from yien these days but she knows he's got his own stuff to deal with and after the text he sent her, she feels at peace. "i like to think my biggest fan is actually my niece joy, though! she's the cutest!" she makes a heart with her fingers, fully aware that grace would show joy if the clip makes it on the next episode. "there's also my best friend, sooah, i love her a whole lot! she's always cheering me on! special shout out to yeri, tiffany unnie, gary oppa and woohyun oppa, i miss you guys!"
she knows that, she can’t lie to the world saying that she has a strong aura when it comes to dancing because she really, doesn’t. generally, the time she has shone is when she’s confident and believes in herself. what pushes her through the tough times is working hard, remembering that everything’s worth it if you’ve given it your all. although, things may not always be perfect all the time but it’s the dedication and trust in music that soojung pursues. ultimately, that’s why she never gives up.
there’s also the underlying fact that soojung is a modest and demure girl, keeping to herself which is probably why she doesn’t stand out as the other girls do. she has trouble smiling but she’s very delicate. she’d like to think herself as a diamond in the rough. before diamonds, there is the ugly charcoal. through pressure and heat, a beautiful gemstone is created.
she’s gotten better at answering these interview questions for sure. being aware of what to say at the right occasion is a plus, especially to the viewers and if anyone did support her in the first place. besides her boyfriend oh sehun, someone she can’t talk about publicly ( obviously ).
the first question strikes up, the camera is recording and she’s prepared for this setting. familiar with it that she doesn’t shake herself up internally for any sorts of questions that they were going to ask, it’s a survival show in the first place anyways.
what would you change, if anything, about your performance?
soojung purses her lips together, taking a moment to think carefully because there’s just so much she could’ve done to improvise her performance altogether. it’s clear for a fact that she should’ve rendered herself in a position where she had more limelight but at that point, she didn’t throw herself out there positively, more like on a neutral standing. she nods, “ah, there’s a lot i wish i could change about my performance.” a nervous smile cracks in, “i wish i could’ve been out there, you know? i did have fun but you can tell that i’m more of a person who likes to keep things to herself and i’ve been trying to open up. trust me, i think if i opened up more then i would have a lot of fun being a performer, ya’ know? besides having fun on the stage, there’s having this alluring charisma that makes people admire you. i wish i had that.”
the next question isn’t going to jolt her gut feeling, she wonders if it’s about herself or the vtr though. unknowingly, she doesn’t expect the question to be anything, but letting life flow for whatever happens instead of overthinking is the best method to ease any sorts of tension left inside her heart. she isn’t angry but disappointed at herself with the results.
tell us about your personal motivations/inspirations that led you here today.
this is a question that she can answer way better than the previous one for sure. because of the fact that soojung knows what she wants for herself, being adamant consistently with her hard work and endeavours. “what motivated me here today is to keep on reaching, aiming for the stars that i couldn’t reach. i remember when two years ago, i thought to myself that i really wanted to be in the royal garden!” she smiles genuinely, a big bright curve not only on her lips but her eyes are forming crescents as well. “besides that, it’s the love i have for music! when life gets for the worse.. and tough, i think of my mummy and dad who would want me to be a successful person. they’ve wanted nothing but the best for me.. especially my mum.”
her heart was tingling a bit the moment she mentioned her mum. the woman who was her heart, now gone and in a safer place. gone from the world. “i’m always going to try to be strong for her sake.” with the smile still there, it grows smaller and smaller. a teardrop was rolling down her cheek. she shouldn’t be crying on national television but this was the inevitable.
why did it have to be about family? she’s too fragile to answer that wholeheartedly, not that she didn’t but she couldn’t let out too much of her shell because she’s well-aware of society. the whole world is watching, eyes scanning on her coldness and labelling her for being a half-breed or ice princess. sad to say, she isn’t too surprised and has adjusted to how judgmental people can be.
hopefully, there would only be another question left or two.
the third question was,
what about the others? tell us a little about your family, friends, or those who are supporting you on the show.
still, a light topic to talk about. she didn’t have too many friends, her step mother was in france ( but that is someone that soojung can give no care about ), and she wasn’t sure if she had a enormous support base in the first place. soojung answers it with the first few people that come to her mind, “gary oppa! he’s very supportive. there’s sehun.. also jihoon, i think she supports me. i’m sure my auntie and brother are watching me out there!” she lets out a small smile, “for those who are supporting me, i’ll work hard for you guys! harder and harder! thank you.”
lastly, what do you think of seeing your performance on the final version of the vtr?
“what do i think about it?” she tilts her head left to right, contemplating for a moment before answering. she’s paused momentarily but she knows what to say, “i think i look pretty cool honestly.” letting out a light laugh, she presses on with her opinion of her performance. “i love hip-hop dancing but let’s get serious, ah. i could be better for sure. i am aware that i can be a good dancer if i learn choreography very well but.. i didn’t slay like i should’ve. so i’m disappointed in myself, honestly.”
before leaving, soojung bows her head down and then gives her gratitude to the cameraman and the staff.

YOUTUBE // jihoonzzy uploaded a new video!!
U Go Girl by Katie Lee [choreo]
gif credit;
{{ description;
to one of new noonas, who nearly killed me on out first meeting, a cringy birthday present. well, its an upgraded version, i hope you enjoy it;;
he didn’t think he’d do this song ever again, but with recent events he was already going over the choreo without any problem. he always found it to be really fun how he remembered it perfectly.
however, this time around, jihoon had put a pair of heels, which didn’t quite match with the cap he had on his head, but he’d live with it. he wasn’t all about the aestetics recently and he just wanted to have fun with this birthday present and hope that tiffany see’s it, /if not he’d send her a text or something about it/.
he stood in the center of the room, where he usually filmed his dances and focused on the water bottle that was placed for a center. he was a bit nervous, since it was his first cover with him in heels, but he was pretty sure he wouldn’t get hurt, and kt wouldn’t mind it either. he hoped kt wouldn’t mind it either, considering the stunt he pulled with his private audition.
soon the music start to play and jihoon was instantly in character that fit the song. most people he knew that watched his videos were usually amazed at how he looked while dancing compared to his little moody and savage self in real life. it was simple. he didn’t have multiple personalities, he just knew how he looked good and was professional and keeping an image.
katie lee was a huge rolemodel to him, mainly because she did what she wanted and she was just amazing at doing it. she was legend, and he’d actually fight people who disagreed with that. it somewhat made him feel proud, while dancing this song, and he was able to dance in front of her and it made him want to work even harder.
but his thoughts shifted to kt fully. he could multi task really well, the fact that he could have a full on conversation with someone on the phone while streaming in front of hundreds, sometimes thousands if he was lucky, and not die, he counted himself as a god at multi tasking. so thinking back to kt, he was amazed at how many amazing people he met there.
starting with the fact that he knew no one to begin with. in kt, he knew no one unlike all the other companies. he knew almost everyone in trc due the fact that he was there before, in sphere he knew half of their trainee’s due them being his closest friends ever. he knew wendy in nova, and was sure he;d annoy the shit out of the girl, and in royal he knew jaehyung. so starting in kt without knowing anyone was definitely a challenge to an introvert like him.
but things quickly changed, a lot faster than he thought they would. joining with an evaluation, made bonding a lot quicker rather than eating lunch alone and stressing over which trainee should i join in a group during dance practice. he had jimin, aron, gary, woohyun to bond with off the bat, he bumped into taemin so randomly and blurted out the weirdest thing possible, taeyeon ran into him by accident and it was cute.
tiffany approached him during lunch time and as soon as he learned it was her birthday on the 1st, he felt the need to do this song again, just in her honor.
with the song reaching the break down, jihoon had to focus a bit more just to make sure everything was perfect, and so far it looked good. he didn’t go out of character, didn’t slip, trip or fall over, he was doing very well that he even allowed himself to sing along with the audio. he knew he’d edit it out, put the actual song over but when it finished, he took a few seconds to regain his breath before running to the camera and grinning widely.
“happy birthday noona.“ he said before the vidoe finished.
A yawn left her mouth as she stepped out of her own car in front of her company. No one was outside yet, that either meant she was late or the car to take them to the shooting place hadn't arrived yet. For her sake she hopped it was the latter, she'd never hear the end of it if she was late and the most likely would just take her out of it. It would be another scar on her record but it didn't seem as if fate wanted to do that to her.
A black van pulled up just as Gary stepped outside. A smile worked it's way onto her face, it was so much easier when she spent time with people she actually liked. He was already making his way to the van and since she didn't see anyone else, Yubin assumed they already went there or chose another way. "Good morning." She said with a small wave. "Are you ready to film?"
