RACE HORSESSSSSS
Okay, this is hard!! I guess I’m gonna come up with a top 5, in no particular order:
Secretariat. He was a one of a kind and an absolute BEAUTY. He may be the reason why I’m weak for bright red chestnuts.
Seabiscuit. The race horse that got me into racehorses. Plus I honestly love a good underdog story, and his is just... *chef kiss*
Barbaro. I’m still heartbroken over him fourteen years later. I’ll never stop wondering if he could have ended the Triple Crown drought sooner if not for his injury.
Ruffian. The filly was a goddamn powerhouse, and even though her movie traumatized me, I don’t think it’s possible to exclude her from a list like this.
California Chrome. I was SO upset about his Triple Crown upset, but he was a phenomenal horse anyway. I also don’t want to talk about his Japan stud career because my heart is broken that we won’t get more baby Chromies here.
Honorable mentions include Zenyatta, American Pharoah, Justify, and Curlin!!
