Spent some time going through the 2026 rivian r2 lineup now that the configurator is live and performance is actually shipping.
three trims. standard at $44,990, premium at $53,990, performance at $57,990. the whole thing launches in reverse though — performance first, standard doesn't arrive until 2027.
what's interesting: premium is the sweet spot of the lineup (dual-motor awd, full premium interior, the rear drop glass party trick, matrix leds, 9-speaker audio) for $4k less than performance. but performance comes with the launch package right now which bundles lifetime autonomy+ — that's $2,500 you don't pay later.
so the math on performance is actually closer to premium than the sticker suggests, if you can take delivery now.
