FULL MOON IN GEMINI TAROT SPREAD: WHAT'S LEFT UNSAID?

Tomorrow, Thursday, December 4th, the moon is full in Gemini at 6:14 pm ET. Here's my take on these energies:

The ancients believed the Moon in Gemini was lost, untethered, wandering in search of information, hoping to find something useful, trying to piece a story together. And often, that doesn’t lead to a satisfying conclusion. This lunation carries a heavy emotional undercurrent through a grand water trine connecting Mercury in Scorpio, Saturn and Neptune with the North Node in Pisces, and Jupiter in Cancer. The theme that speaks most loudly within me is: being forced to find closure within yourself because there is no direct communication from the person you want it from. Reading between the lines. Learning about a person or a situation only through emotional echoes and indirect signals. A ghosting situation comes to mind...

When there’s no final conversation, no explanation, you’re left alone with the unanswered questions. Mercury in Scorpio digs relentlessly—investigating, analyzing, reading between the lines, checking timestamps, searching names, trying to extract meaning from what’s *not* being said. Jupiter in Cancer is wrapped around memory and nostalgia, amplifying the emotional weight, the tenderness, the attachment. Saturn and Neptune in Pisces are asking you to make sense of what can’t be fully seen or proven, to sit with uncertainty, to give shape to something that remains blurred. And the North Node there reminds you that not everything is meant to be explained. Some endings require spiritual acceptance, not factual proof. At some point, you have to make peace with the possibility that you may never know the full truth. You may never get to go back. You may never hear from that person again. And it is from that acceptance that the real healing begins.

And on the other side of this story is the Ghost, dwelling in the powerfully loud silence of Mercury in Scorpio, carrying the hurt nurtured by Jupiter in Cancer, where the grudge is housed and expanded through recurring memories and feelings. Got a lot done today, including making some headway on my plans and goals for the next challenge. I now have a pretty good idea of how I’m going to re-introduce strength training to my workout routine. I also took some time to reflect and narrow down the things I want to improve on for the rest of summer.

I’m still feeling a weird disconnectedness. I’ve been feeling uninspired and sort of… spiritually detached, I guess? It feels weird to describe it that way, since I’m not a particularly spiritual person. It would be too many words and possibly quite boring to talk about in depth here, but in short my witchcraft, for lack of a better term, isn’t about belief in magic. It’s a way for me to be open and vulnerable with myself through symbolic rituals, because I have struggled immensely with shame and self-judgement.

Ritual work has helped me externalize my self-talk in a way that quiets my cruel inner critic. So as silly as it feels to talk about my herbs and crystals and candles and moon cycles when I have 0 belief in magic, it has become a really precious tool for me. It has helped me feel more connected to myself, more present, more free, and less afraid of just… liking what I like and wanting what I want without fear of whether it’s cringey or unrealistic or childish. The symbolism, the ritual, the structure of it… something about it helps.

And so far, it’s cheaper than therapy! Honestly, as someone who has spent a not-insignificant amount of time in therapy, I know that sometimes therapeutic techniques that feel disarming and strange are the ones that help you the most. So who knows, maybe I’m on to something. All I know is doing it has been a way to pointedly care for myself, and I think that’s worth continuing if it’s working.

All that said, I think I’m gonna take some time to do a ritual to help shake this weird disconnection I feel. I feel that I’ve lost a bit of the energy and joy I had a few weeks ago, and I’d like it back.

I am playing hooky tomorrow. I should probably feel a bit bad, but honestly, I can’t bring myself to care. Work has been slow and dull the past couple of days.

Meanwhile, I continue to feel unengaged, low-energy, and unhappy in myself. The worst part is that I can’t quite pinpoint when I started to feel like this, but it must have been around when I had my bad day of eating last week. It’s nagging at me that I can’t quite diagnose this malaise, but at this point, I think it might be best to focus on getting out of it. Going to focus on checking in with myself to stay present and connected to my body, and trying to break the time down into smaller chunks to keep from mentally drifting away into anxiety or distraction.

I didn’t want to, but I lit my altar candles and sat down by the open window, and did a full moon ritual. The thing about ritual practice, I have found, is that value of a ritual comes from what you bring to it. Tonight I had disappointment and a muddled and distant mind. So the ritual became an entreaty for clarity, groundedness, and energy.

I blew out my candles and sat down by the window to journal, and I looked up, and all through the darkened branches along the tree line, the fireflies were twinkling like flashbulbs. Sitting here, watching them blinking out their rhythm in the darkened leaves, I feel a little more present in the flow of time, a little more real and in my body.
