doing some math on ripresa, the new 5* splash caster
she has mod Y which is the cost reduction module, so she'll cost 25 dp before potentials. she has 950 atk with module and trust, and her talent gives her an extra multiplier when at least three enemies are within the splash radius of her attack, 120% normally and 130% with module. that means before anything else, if she's doing the job you're deploying a splash caster for her attacks are doing 1235 damage per hit or 425.8 dps.
for perspective: santalla (who also has mod Y) with the same investment and her talent buff active has 1116 atk and 384.8 dps. mod Y dusk has 411 dps before stacking her talent.
s1 is a 7sp 2 charges auto recovery power strike with increased splash radius and a 210% multiplier for 2593 damage on 3+ targets and 1995 on fewer. like with similar skills the 2 charges are mostly there so you don't get gimped by the sp cost not lining up with the attack interval when she's continuously attacking. for ease of math we'll assume that's an even (2593-1235)/7 = 194 extra dps on top of her normal attacks, making for 619.8 averaged dps.
the only comparable skill on other splash casters is dusk s1 which has both a lower sp cost and bigger multiplier to go with her extra star, so by the same math it gives her 333 extra dps for an average 744 dps (before talent stacks). astgenne s1 is the most similar among 5*, where if she can double dip her bounces she comes out to 2017 damage per target per skill use, 172 extra dps over her base 450 dps at full talent (which takes 70 seconds to fully ramp up) for 623.7 average dps.
ripresa s2 is a 12sp auto recovery manual instant attack that instantly deals a big splash to 3 targets in range and inflicts a dot on all targets hit by the splash. the three splashes are 180% atk for 1710 damage on their own and 2223 damage on 3+ targets, and since the radius is increased you can easily overlap the splashes. all enemies hit will take arts damage worth 35% of ripresa's atk per second over 6 seconds, which is 332 damage per tick for 1995 damage total.
that means if you have three targets who are clustered close enough to each be hit by every splash (like 3 enemies being blocked by the same defender for example) these enemies will take three hits of 2223 plus 1995 worth of dot for a total of 8664 skill damage, or an average 772 dps from this skill alone if you're pressing it on cooldown.
the most comparable skill here is leonhardt s2, with max talent stacks (so 7 enemies in range) he deals 2.897 damage for 10sp or an average 289.6 skill dps. this means even if he dumps all 3 charges on the same targets that's still less damage than a single ripresa s2, though he hits all enemies in range equally without needing them to cluster + has a res debuff so it's not like she completely outdoes him in every situation
worth noting also that all the numbers in ripresa's skills are percent multipliers rather than atk buffs, so she'll scale really nice with buffs.
