It's me! Ok, I've decided to try to stop just using this blog to watch other people achieve their goals and to actually track mine a little more. With that being said here is an update in list form. Positive things: -I think in the last 6 months or so I've lost 15 lbs while retaining most of the muscle mass I've accumulated. But I'm weak! Weak as hell. I've gone back to squatting the bar. However, part of this can be attributed to... -completely changing my form. I started reading Starting Strength, which is extremely dense, but SO HELPFUL in understanding form. I started reading it because my brother FINALLY got interested in lifting and... -I taught him and his girlfriend basic squat mechanics this past Monday!! It felt so good to share my knowledge and take beginners on a tiny bit of the journey. My brother really needed help understanding the movement, and the process of taking him through learning was so rewarding. I love being a teacher! Things to work on: -diet. Calorically I'm probably fine for losing, but I don't want to eat too little and not be able to make any strength gains. Mostly I need to eat less carbs and more protein, but that's always he struggle. I had a bad stomach virus a couple of weeks ago so I'm still recovering, but eating a ton of bread isn't really excusable anymore! -sleep. I rush around a lot doing a bunch of shit, but it's no excuse to have no relaxing bedtime routine and get to bed on time. I also just wake up tired after like 7 hours, just because I think I'm still healing. I need to get like, 9. -form! I have to keep reading this book. Barely even read the section on benching, just reviewing it today as I'm working and it's been amazingly helpful. I'll start posting macro screenshots again and progress pics, and try to reblog random shit less. Excited to be back tracking my journey :)
