Our dear long time friend Gina Gilbert passed away this morning at 6.30am holding the hands of her three beautiful children Natalie, Amanda and Glenn. Gina, the former wife of Paul’s business partner Dennis Gilbert, has been a constant in our lives for more than 30 years, 40 for Paul. She remembered all our birthdays every year with a phone call or text, she would always call me to ask about what I was going to wear to the Spring Carnival and always celebrated our successes with us with genuine joy and happiness. Gina has known for some months this day was coming and asked Paul to sit with her so she could tell him her life so he could do her eulogy. What an honor and a privilege for him. 4 days ago we saw Gina for the last time. It was a good day for her and she enjoyed an apple crumble with us as we discussed our families and our memories and the merits of rainbow fingernails. Gina was always all of our cheerleaders. She was selfless and kind, generous and resilient. We will miss her so much in our lives. Fly high Gina.
