I wonder if Aaliyah was still alive if she wouldâve been in this show. Her name would be way too big but still she played Akasha so perfectly. I think they wouldâve casted her. Or at least have her be a vampire. Imagine her and Louis, two beautiful black vampires with green eyes. Aaliyahâs Akasha would have loved Louisâ killer instincts lmao She so homicidal which makes me wonder why she went after Lestat to begin with. Like heâs a killer too but LouisâŚwhew. Itâs just a shame Aaliyah ainât here cuz she loved vampires and wouldâve loved this show and to be a part of it. 𼰠đď¸
Canât wait to see Sheila Atim as Akasha though and I wonder if weâll see Enkil or will she drain him before heâs introduced lmao.
I was thinking once again about what bothered me so much about the movie âThe Queen of the Damnedâ. For one thing they combined two books (The Vampire Lestat and The Queen of the Damned) therefore truncating the stories making the narrative suffer. The movie significantly alters the backstory, particularly by replacing the character Marius as Lestatâs maker instead of Magnus. For another thing several key characters were omitted or changed, including the removal of the twin vampires Maharet and Mekare's backstory, and the absence of Louis de Pointe du Lac. Iâd say the best thing about the movie is Aaliyah as Akasha aka The Queen of the Damned. Though her part of the story wasnât done justice Aaliyah did well in the part.
With how well they did adapting the first book Iâm looking forward to seeing AMC+ take on the second book âThe Vampire Lestatâ! I already adore Sam Reidâs portrayal of Lestat and canât wait to see him embody Lestatâs rockstar era!
