I wonder if Aaliyah was still alive if she wouldāve been in this show. Her name would be way too big but still she played Akasha so perfectly. I think they wouldāve casted her. Or at least have her be a vampire. Imagine her and Louis, two beautiful black vampires with green eyes. Aaliyahās Akasha would have loved Louisā killer instincts lmao She so homicidal which makes me wonder why she went after Lestat to begin with. Like heās a killer too but Louisā¦whew. Itās just a shame Aaliyah aināt here cuz she loved vampires and wouldāve loved this show and to be a part of it. š„° šļø
Canāt wait to see Sheila Atim as Akasha though and I wonder if weāll see Enkil or will she drain him before heās introduced lmao.
I was thinking once again about what bothered me so much about the movie āThe Queen of the Damnedā. For one thing they combined two books (The Vampire Lestat and The Queen of the Damned) therefore truncating the stories making the narrative suffer. The movie significantly alters the backstory, particularly by replacing the character Marius as Lestatās maker instead of Magnus. For another thing several key characters were omitted or changed, including the removal of the twin vampires Maharet and Mekare's backstory, and the absence of Louis de Pointe du Lac. Iād say the best thing about the movie is Aaliyah as Akasha aka The Queen of the Damned. Though her part of the story wasnāt done justice Aaliyah did well in the part.
With how well they did adapting the first book Iām looking forward to seeing AMC+ take on the second book āThe Vampire Lestatā! I already adore Sam Reidās portrayal of Lestat and canāt wait to see him embody Lestatās rockstar era!
