I broke free and created whatever my heart desired, instead of what I thought people wanted to see in an already saturated market. My focus became the story that each piece would carry and my hope was to spark that same feeling within the wearer. As my love grew for my art, I also had to dig deep and face the delicate nature of each theme I chose to work with. A beautiful yet sometimes painful process for fear of rejection. And isn't that what all forms of love are? A double edged sword, strong, empowering and ready for whatever life will face you with. But she is also sharp and needs to be handled with care. Snowy owl flying across a snowy sky has a moonstone dangling below to represent an arctic landscape. All sterling silver metal components were sawn out by hand using my jeweler's saw. The snowy background on the pendant was created by fusing silver dust to the metal. The moonstone is set in fine silver, which is soldered to sterling silver metal. I framed it with silver wire that is balled on the ends. Snowy owls have actually been spotted on the beaches of NJ during the winter but I haven't been lucky enough to spot one.
