it wasn't every day that you got your blinded and turned to stone by an echo of medusa simply for who your mother was, but that happened to atticus. thankfully it was all just a thunder dome run so he was safe but that didn't mean the godling felt any better afterwards. he promised ender he would show up to the party for at least a hour before he snuck back to his cabin to get some rest. what he didn't expect was for the alcohol to be quite so strong and after one or two drinks, he was already feeling it start to hit him. 

Gabriel wasn't sure when he'd decided that he'd rather be meeting his fellow demigods in the comfort of the kitchens and it's attached eatery, but... It seemed like a safer bet than the bath houses. Or anywhere near the stables. And the la- His first impressions could probably use some work is what he was working with. So, spotting an unfamiliar figure making his way in to the building when he near they were gearing up to start lunch service, he saw an opportunity to. Try another first impression. God's don't let him embarrass himself again.

He recognized the signs of somebody just stating their day, rather than part way through it, and well. His mouth frequently went before he could fully filter the question.

"I know the birthday party for Clem's soon, right? Mind if I bring my Niece and Nephew? They're six, but they'll make fun for themselves even if it's mostly aimed at younger kids."

Calvin figured it was better to ask than just assume it was cool for him to bring the twin terrors along. He'd been mulling it over all through their current episode, but hoped it wouldn't count against him for waiting until like... The night before to actually ask. It was also a helpful distraction from the fact he'd absolutely still choked up at Prentiss even knowing how it all worked out in the end.

it wasn't every day that atticus welby got injured, he tried to be as careful as he possibly could and thought of every situation that could result in something like this and yet even he couldn't manipulate fate. the godling had been strolling along the edge of the woods so she could get some proper exercise before he started his next shift at the infirmary. she ran around in the field, chasing a stick he'd tossed and leaning against an old tree. he must have been distracted because atticus didn't notice how weak one of the branches were and it wasn't until he heard wood cracking that he caught on but it was too late by that point. 

At least it was quieter now. Nobody milling about, nobody stalling every time they had to pass certain places. Struggling to sleep was a fairly consistent issue for Calvin, even before he'd arrived at camp he was prone to just... Keep going until he body decided for him that it was time to sleep.
