when a girl is so in love it’s making her heart beat like drum, tiny flowers bloom in her lungs and a disease soon may come. should she find herself unlucky — the boy does not love her back — it turns into hanahaki, steals her breath and stuffs her neck. first noticed it one fellow teen, soon it’s whispered among all; that nohara rin has been seen coughing petals pink and small. it’s obvious who she’ll wait on, who would bring her greatest joy. as her other teammate is gone, it is that hatake boy. the medics refuse to fight it, say that she has to endure. if the love is unrequited, hanahaki has no cure. kakashi has nothing to give; words of love would be a lie, she is just not fated to live. for his cold heart she will die. some speak to her in calming lies, others try to give her space. if only they opened their eyes and looked closely at her case — if you know what you should look for it is pretty hard to miss — nohara rin has contracted ninja tuberculosis.
