In the versions I’ve seen this, Scarlett becomes OOC and caters to Duke. Duke isn’t a character I really like in the first place, being generic cardboard action figure (tm), but douchebaggy lines like “Him or me” in Resolute make me want to strangle the man, and then put Scarlett and Snake Eyes in relationship therapy. Like seriously, Scarlett, you deserve way better than that crap.
I really hate that she just accepts that and dumps Snake Eyes like a hot potato. I mean, you have a guy who literally goes through fire for you and you have Duke, who has no flavor, is your superior officer, and is a dill weed. So fine, you have no obligation to the first guy, but for f-’s sake, don’t chose Mr. Vanilla. You should have slapped him when he forced you to choose.
Again though, I think there is one other version out there where they are a thing, but I can’t remember for sure if I’m thinking of canon or fanfiction, but either way it’s like Scarlett isn’t Scarlett. This is my big beef with the live action Scarlett as well. I don’t know who that woman was, but that was not Scarlett and anyone who says differently can bounce.
